No, buddy, its Kyiv - the great capital of UkraineIs this the club located in Odessa?
yeah, there was no TT for first 4-5 months of the war. Glory to heroes that keep holding back hordes of orcs that coming to delete our nation from the face of the planet Earth. It's great that you can still train like that in Kyiv! A fantastic way to stick two finger up at Putin!
Thank you for the kind words and a support, I heavily appreciate thatYou've not asked for any feedback, so I won't give any.
I just wanted to say I LOVE the fact that as a person who hasn't posted video before, you've:
1. Left the whole clip unedited - It's so easy to go back through and cut out all the mistakes and miss hits to try and make you look better. But you've not done that, and I think it gives SO much more information to those who know what to look for.
2. I just love the fact you've posted video - You know how I love video, and you've followed through. Regardless of your level, you are one of the rare ones who follows through on saying they'll post video!
3. Your club looks lovely! It always feels like other people have great TT specific venues, and most of us in the UK have to put up with a local multi purpose village hall!
4. VIVA UKRAINE!
There is a moment on that thing, before TT I was doing martial arts whole my life so for me, weight transfer technique is little bit different than for the most people, mine is more compact and not so obvious, im bouncing my right foot when I do forehand - this helps me to take the energy from the legs. As you will see the difference in weight transfer of an amateur boxer and a pro one.Ave,
I am not qualified physician, based on the video (really great picture quality) on FH you are not using much of core I think. I can see forearm tension and shoulders, not so much butt and thighs. (its really easy to see, great musculature)
Feel you bro. I did spent a couple of years doing karate. Still I benefitted a lot from loosening up and lengthening my stroke. More consistency and less strain on my muscles. I am not jacked like you though. That prolly the difference. There is a moment on that thing, before TT I was doing martial arts whole my life so for me, weight transfer technique is little bit different than for the most people, mine is more compact and not so obvious, im bouncing my right foot when I do forehand - this helps me to take the energy from the legs. But I need to be lowering my stance more - that's for sure, coach is always keep saying me this, from video its even more obvious
Yeah loosening the wrist is always good thing especially for backhand exchanges, chiquitas etc, but with 09c on forehand I really feel that I need to hit hard. In reality I never played with soft rubbers, so I’m used to loop like that. I feel like I have more control on a harder loop shotsFeel you bro. I did spent a couple of years doing karate. No no. Loosen up your whole body. Not only the wrist. I think there are more competent people to explain the "idealistic version of the technique". When I play topspins I use arms and wrist to finish the stroke. Core to start the motion.Yeah loosening the wrist is always good thing especially for backhand exchanges, chiquitas etc, but with 09c on forehand I really feel that I need to hit hard. I didn't really tense at all. Maybe the type of my build lead you to this opinion. I can hit gazillion balls without breaking a sweat. This is hard asf to continuously loop with tensioned and squeezed body, I don't even believe its possible. Im doing TT for a little more than a year, so my movement is not super duper TT orthodox but the point that I need to be relaxed before I hit I get since I was kidNo no. Loosen up your whole body. Gotcha, just looked like the same facility as that in table_tennis_roman's instagram. Would love to visit sometime after this war is finishedNo, buddy, its Kyiv - the great capital of Ukraine
I’m pretty sure Roman is from Odessa, our hall is in Kyiv - and it’s one of the best here. We have players of all calibers in it.Gotcha, just looked like the same facility as that in table_tennis_roman's instagram. Would love to visit sometime after this war is finished![]()
Thanks a lot, I put a huge effort and work in to it, doing various sports from young age is helping too. Plus I have really good coach (I can see the deference, bc I’m a coach as well with 15+ years of exp)For only having played a bit more than a year, especially as an adult, you must've made a lot of progress, nice job. Looks like you started out in a good training environment. You have a lot of potential to improve more as well.
It took me a few years to even get a proper racket that could spin the ball. 😂
I think that you can also work on recovery. After your FH loop, your hand looks like it ends up behind your left ear. Maybe just an illusion. But you seem to take too long to recover. Quicker recovery = more time to prepare for next ball. Using martial arts as a parallel. When you hit someone in your face you don't keep your hand in the air. You immediately pull it back to guardThanks a lot, I put a huge effort and work in to it, doing various sports from young age is helping too. But I’m little bit stuck now in terms of progress, maybe bc of the surgery and medicine that i take for recovery, maybe another guys from the team, that already were far experienced than me (6 years to 11 of training) making more progress till I recovered, and minding my heart business, but it is what it is. I was in the first roles, and now I’m stuck in the middle with inconsistent results.
Environment that i get to is pushing me the only way - to progress, so the only thing I can do - is to keep training 🤜🏻
