Has anyone here attended one of the camp in Düsseldorf open to amateurs? I've signed up and am curious to hear from anyone about what I can expect and any tips on how to ensure I get the most from it.

Thank you 🙂

I was there 2 years ago for entire week (Mon-Fri). The class was larger than usual (more than 40 people, usually between 18-25), so they decided to split the group into two, but still didn't have enough coaches to handle it properly.
Expect a lot of fitness and shadow training at the beginning of each session (usually one in the morning, one in the afternoon).
Drills were good, correction not to much (due to the lack of coaches), and they were trying to accommodate the wishes of the group members.

Food is good and rooms are not Hotel class, but rather on a simple but good enough standard.

You get video taped on an exercise you can choose and get practical tips on how improve.

All in all, I wouldn't go there a second time, as I found fitness to be too long and supervision on training sessions not enough. Given the price tag of 450,- EUR, I would rather invest in 1on1 coaching sessions over a longer period.

But this has also to do with the fact, that I'm not used to play TT 5 hours or more a day on 4 consecutive days, which at the end leads to less efficiency as your body simply gets tired over time and won't be able to let you play the same way, as would do, when you are fresh. So you are always wondering if it is your technique or simply your fatigue muscles that a the cause of any inconsistency.

But that could of course be totally different for you. As a reference I was 54 by the time, but do regular fitness sessions (rowing on 3 day a week), so I believe it was not a lack overall fitness.

This is what I see a lot of times, and not based on age.
injury due to overloading is another issue.

So for those who want to train sessions a day (longer hours a day) and at higher intensity, you need to prepare at least 1 month prior to it, on fitness and on the basic footworks and stroke play.
otherwise, you will spend most of your time, in pain and the inconsistency will drive you mad
