augh

my rpb is currently better and more reliable than my forehand....... im failing to live up to the penholder stereotype
better just use shakehand....

says former JPEN, now CPEN
better just use shakehand....
im too stubborn for that

seems like pips on FH is my destiny sooner or later, just like my coach suggested

maxresdefault.jpg

i am restructuring my forehand under the guidance of my coach though so fingers crossed that things would just click one day

I keep hoping to try Codexx EF 54 from Gewo but I hit with it, then get faced with someone I am playing for the first time and then decide not to risk new equipment or I will never hear the end of it when I lose lol. Hoping to meet up with and try it on a Viscaria SALC vs my training buddies tomorrow. Then we will go from there...

Are you losing regularly in Table-Tennis game?
Have never tasted the taste of victory?
Feel like giving up on TT?
Fret not my friend, try long pimple... if this still fail, then and only then give up TT coz you are beyond hope. Only despair and despondency.

Met up with LDM7 on Sunday at the Alameda club. He was just there to practice and I just happened to go there to play. I'm switching up my grip right now (gonna hold much higher on the racket, and use pretty much the same grip for FH and BH) and was running on fumes after working a lot and resting very little, so after a few not so great matches I just started practicing with LDM7. We had some good really good hits! LDM7 is a good practice partner, he's got a good loop and a good block in practice, so I wonder how his playing level is these days. Hope next time we get a longer session next time around!

Hmmm interesting, why do you think that? If i remember right revspin did say it was spinnier but im interested in the real world experience :)
The main point is that they are not miles apart in performance, even if they can be used by fairly advanced players. Rakza 7 may be better (with emphasis on *may* and if so, not by much). Usually, if you want to change equipment in earlier stages of learning, it is common to either change too frequently or to try things that are broadly in the same class and I don't think either is worth it. For me, radical forehand change is to answer "sticky or not", or significantly harder sponge or trying a Tenergy or Dignics which gives more speed but makes some over the table control shots harder or trying sticky rubbers which make some touch shots easier but require more effort to spin. Radical backhand change would be either going to tacky rubber or going to Tenergy/Dignics for more speed and spin while dealing with changes in blocking control.

In all honesty, Rozena is perfectly fine. I could and probably should use it, but I enjoy hitting Gozo shots sometimes not just putting the ball on the table lol.

Just putting the ball back is downright boring and is a guarantee to NOT make you a YT / IG / Tiktok influencer...

Sounds like you have identified my problem, I play a consistency game with DHS and Butterfly rubbers. I need to add more Gozo shots and do more youtube shorts...

So I went to a club in Paris (Paris 13 TT or something like that). It was interesting because I got lucky that one of my old co-workers wanted to meet up so we agreed to meet (she and her husband wanted to meet my wife and family). Thankfully, she got to the location first, figured out the address on the website wasn't where people actually played, and figured out the French details showing two locations ans referring me to the appropriate one for more seasoned players.

I had put my name on reservations from 5 to 9 but family obligations meant I got there at 7. Paid 10 Euros for 2 hours of table time, changed in the changing room. The host asked where I was from and I said Texas but that I wasn't a serious player but I played a lot. He asked me whether I followed MLTT and said of course, listing Enzo, Brossier, Lorenz, and Provost (and I am sure there are othera). Of course, no one can forget DeSantilan the chopper.

Went in and waited for a table to open up and one did. Got on a table, a lady told me she was a beginner so I hit with her. She was more consistent than I thought a beginner would be and that was fine for my training, I just needed exercise. The thing with matches is that while they are cool, it is hard to get consistent table time. And I noticed pretty quickly that not playing for days had affected my physical shape lol. Hopefully will find form when I am away from so much food.

I did get to play one match (my co-worker had hyped me up as the good player from the US so she wanted to see me play one). During the warm up, I felt that it would be relatively easy. And then proceeded to lose the first game at deuce lol. Sometimes you have to remember that if you don't deploy your weapons, you become an average player. My weapons are spin and serve variation and if I don't want to use them, I become easy to play against whether I like it not lol. But after that I won ghr next 3 games comfortably.

Took pictures with my coworker and her husband and my wife and kids. Got an Uber home and that was the evening.

So I played TT in Paris. Until next time! Hopefully under more TT friendly and focused circumstances...

Yeah Rozena is fine, I just feel like my FH can handle a harder/spinnier rubber so that’s why I started exploring around a bit :)

Sounds like tynergy route instead of rakza route?

Sure. Tenergy, Dignics, Hurricane, Rakza X, whatever. Razka 7 only if you tried someone's blade similar to yours with it and went wow...

Ah cool cool, I haven't yet. However I did try xiom europe on BH and went wow :)
Soft rubbers, well, I will keep my opinion to myself. If they work for you, great. But I would argue that the FX series are probably more reliable even then. But if you are the Chosen one who can play high level quality shots with Rakza 7 soft consistently, good for you, I am not that guy...

Haha fair point, yeah my sample size (I'm a data scientist so pardon nerding out) is pretty small here, I've only tried some random chinese rubbers that I got from coelstt, rozena and I had a few rallys with vega europe/dignics combo (mostly using vega europe) and 2 strokes with dignics haha :) So you might be right :)

I'm visiting a friend in Hamburg from Thursday to Monday and we wanted to play around in a park (she is a total beginner), but I told myself to look just in case if there is a club that plays during the weekend and I found two. So I wrote one, asked if I could join and I got a positive response real quick. Now I'm looking forward to playing new people more than visiting her lol (she is coming along too).

NL,

I have been itching to send you the bat in my sig (with soft BH rubber) along with a couple leftover Nexy "Skull" shirts and a couple Thomas Sowell books for your kids... you might not hate the soft on BH once you operate this blade in action. it really isn't slow at all.
