its also ridiculous how low the points are for say R16 ~ R64It's ridiculous the olympic champion has the same ranking score as a wtt smash. The olympic is obviously far more important for everyone.
It's a greater honor, but for the major WTT events with more players allowed from top national associations it's probably harder to make it to the R16-R64.its also ridiculous how low the points are for say R16 ~ R64
its a mission to get to the olypmics, and its so much easier for those WTT events
you don't get qualification tournaments for SmashIt's a greater honor, but for the major WTT events with more players allowed from top national associations it's probably harder to make it to the R16-R64.
You just contradicted yourself here a bit since you say there are no qualifying tournaments for a smash but are pointing to the qualifiers that happen just before the smash, which is essentially a tournament for the last few spots and the top spots for the main round are decided via world ranking.you don't get qualification tournaments for Smash
ITTF has decided that the IOC OG has same value as WTT Smash
Maybe grandslam must change to include that of Smash, since on points, its equal value to the tee from R32. In fact as qualifers, you walk away more in WTT Smash on points.
There is AC in WTT to note

olympic qualification tournaments are totally different tournaments to the olympic games.... the vibe is also differentYou just contradicted yourself here a bit since you say there are no qualifying tournaments for a smash but are pointing to the qualifiers that happen just before the smash, which is essentially a tournament for the last few spots and the top spots for the main round are decided via world ranking.
I think the points are perfectly fine tbh, as the top of the field for a smash is stronger by a decent margin than for the Olympics simply due to the "2 per country" restriction.
so its a tournament? okNo, I understand the system decently well, so there is no need for you to be patronising.
I've just pointed out that the Smash qualifiers are a tournament of sorts,
4 per year, versus 1 every 4 years...not that they are similar to those for the Olympics, which is obviously not the case. And I maintain that the overall level of play at a Smash is higher than at the Olympics just because of the selection criteria, so depending on what nation you are from it might be much easier for you to qualify for an Olympics than for a Smash, while for some others, it might be impossible to qualify for the Olympics.
I'll leave it at that.
so its a tournament? ok
Thank you for acknowledging your contradiction.you don't get qualification tournaments for Smash
And I guess by your logic we agree, as the asian games should give more points than a Smash because it's once a year, instead of 4 per year. And to top it off, according to your logic, the Commonwealth games should award the same amount of points as the Olympics, as they happen every 4 years too. Lol, okI guess that is the logic behind the same points, lol
same logic, the asian games/championships should have more point
It's random. Sometime it does, sometime it doesn't. Depend on some purpose...And team points won't be awarded either? To the personal rating, I mean...
Due to country of origin limitations, its easier to qualify for the Olympics, so it makes sense to limit the points especially at the lower levels filled with qualifiers.you don't get qualification tournaments for Smash

still waiting for you to define how Smash qualifiers are a tournament of sorts, it is in the same tournament. The word qualifiers obviously confused you a big deal. ITTF days, it is called group stages. Now they do KO all the way and call it qualifiers. The olden days, with bigger entries, this is common and you still get qualification tournaments before it...You just contradicted yourself here a bit since you say there are no qualifying tournaments for a smash but are pointing to the qualifiers that happen just before the smash, which is essentially a tournament for the last few spots and the top spots for the main round are decided via world ranking.

See, I can be condescending too and drag your points into absurdity. Ok?
