Never played with those.
Darn. I really dont understand why Xiom has 2 hybrid 55d rubbers. Unless Xiom clearly tells us the difference, it feels confusing and unnecessary.

Omega china is legitimately really good as a hybrid.

Really dont know what C55 does differently

I haven't played with Omega China but have been using a sheet of C55 for a week or so as a possible alternative to H3. It is a very impressive rubber - probably the best hybrid I have used on FH so far (up until this point I would have said Bluestar A1) Nice feel on ball, very spinny but also reasonably fast - feels more dynamic than a lot of them (such as DG)

I haven't really used C55
i had it in my hand on a sample blade about 6 weeks ago
did a spin test with it and it felt good

other than that, Omega China, Vega China, Tau, are all very good.
Xiom's rubbers have been impressive over the years (i've been selling Xiom since 2012)

So, i'm eager to see all the feedbacks

Given your experience can you recommend a Xiom rubber for my BH - I tend towards 43-48 degree and have enjoyed using T05Fx and Aurus soft but keen to try a Xiom option that is dynamic and spinny. I was thinking of trying Omega 7 Euro or pro or J&H V47.5?

Well, I can't say I have the best experience, since I don't use Xiom myself. But have followed the brand from its early stages till now and it sure is going on the right trend in terms of gaining market share with product quality.

If you like soft, then go Omega 7 Euro
the 47.5 might be a bit hard for your liking.
Vega Pro/Korea is another option too.
Korea comes in Pink/Blue if that interests you.

Hope that helps

Thanks Tony - that's helpful.

I have tried Vega pro in the past and found it a bit dull but thought Japan or Korea might be worth a look.

I guess I could always add a layer of booster to the J&H to soften it a little (as I do with T05)

I've had one quick session with C55 and it feels like a good alternative to Loki Arthur China, albeit one at over twice the price but better quality with less probability for bubbling. More testing to follow.

Very quick impression was C55 is a hair bit faster than LAC but needs more testing.

You feel C55 is faster than DG?

For me, I have found DG to be the fastest and most powerful ESN hybrid I have tried. DG is faster than Bluegrip C2, and maybe slightly faster than Dynaryz ZGR, similar speed with Omega China.

Its been a while since I played DG bit my feeling is that speed is about the same - C55 feels more dynamic and a little less unforgiving to me so far.

Hey guys,
I am glad to hear that the C55 has made a positive impression on most of you. I have played this rubber now for about 15 hours (about 5 sessions) and it still holds up well. I cannot notice a reduction in spin so far. My thoughts about the rubber havent changed, it is still an amazing Hurricane replacement, best thing you can use out of the box without having to boost.

Meanwhile, I have tried out Hurricane Neo 40 Blue Sponge for the first time, and I like that even more than Hurricane OS and the C55. I guess I am just addicted to the kind of 'kick' feeling that Hurricane provides. However, I must say that I could switch back to the C55 anytime, and I still keep it on my second Hugo HAL.

Just wanted to say how impressed I was with the C55 when pushing and chopping and touch shots. Many of my opponents last night commented how they were surprised by how much backspin was on my Plus plenty of power when attacking from back of the table. My sheet still looks in good shape so hopefully it's going to be fairly durable!!!

Does anyone knows the wheigts of the rubber (uncut) and is it suitable for both sides ?

75g with 4 very thin layers of glue, 54g cut to my blade (159x150, the miracle from Sergio), the 2.1 thickness. (I did a bad job, had to remove).

It is not suitable for both sides, imo, but that will depend obviously on the player's preference. The sponge has typical chinese dense sponge feeling, very nice. It differs from the "hybridy" sponges... I've only played once yesterday, so writing prematurely. I must say I like it a lot. Coming from STN, to describe what I feel is simply: RELIEF ;-) It's a bit more dynamic (well, will see how it evaporates later), a bit higher arc, much more easily accessible in slower shots, and in hard shot I also don't feel like bottoming the sponge. More spin too, partner didn't block some shots, with STN he hardly missed.

The sponge, measured with Type O durometer, is 50-51. This seems slightly less than declared, e.g. the Rxton 9 40,5 I measure as 54. The STN H40 I also measure at cca 50 (maybe the booster is not evaporated fully). Anyway, the sponge doesn't feel too soft, no way, I really don't bottom it and people using ESN still describe it as dull. For me kind of optimal hardness.

The thing is, opinions will differ based on where are you coming from. If you are coming from chinese dense sponge like rubbers (H3, B2, STN, Rxton9, DFVP) you'll like it. If you are coming from ESN/Hybrid it's possible you may not like it. E.g. a friend of mine, playing RZ EH obviously enjoys that rubber more... Cheers.

I hit with the C55 yesterday and don't like it. Far away from the table it has a nice solid click which tells me there's good grip and connection. However soft close to the table shots are not grippy. The rubber squeaks with soft spinny shots. Which tells me there is slip. That does not happen with tacky rubbers. And oh btw there is no tackiness. I don't know how people think it's tacky because it can't pick up a ball at all. Unless I got a factory defect it's not tacky.
