This specific style gives me nightmares, even more than LP choppers. At least with choppers, they give you space and time to hit the ball.

But see how this guy with the LP stays close to the table and punches the ball with his LP from left to right? There's a 70 year old guy at our local club who plays just like this. And I think he does that LP punch shot just as well as the guy in the video.

The ball is coming really fast to you since he is close to table, and I have no idea what spin is on the ball every time.

A very low energy style, perfect for a 70yo if the player is fast enough. I am not saying I will do better against this style but it’s mostly a matter of getting used to. Unfortunately not too many players with this style to practice against.

This style is using your spin and speed against you. What I try (with various success) is to use minimal topspin. That way it’s going to be a little less spin on his strokes. Unfortunately it’s built into the spine to hit with maximum topspin as much as possible so it takes some hard concentration.

Cheers

I'm actually really good at pickleball. It's way easier. I'm good at badminton too
And ladies and gentlemen; we have it: TT is a game that evoke nightmare even to the most seasoned sportsman. It is a game of epic, no epoch fear inducing activity. Be afraid! Be very afraid!

I suspect Gucchy is actually giving a chance to whoever appears on his channel to shine and intentionally does not try to play to win.

Tbh this is the worst strategy against LP, almost everything he is doing is precisely what not to do, especially giving short underspin balls to the LP player. Pushes have to be deep and fast to the corners so that you place them under time pressure too. Also his long serves are really quite weak and without variety compared to what he can do in the tutorials. Short serves are pretty much a bad idea unless it is sudden and just a complement to the fast long serves.

Gucchy also does weak pivot FH loops that would also get punished hard if he went against an inverted player. When you pivot it has to be decisive and it has to be a strong shot, not something halfassed like that. Gucchy also has a nonexistent BH loop which is almost required in order to rally well with LP while holding position near table. You pretty much need a strong FH pivot or a strong BH to deal with those nasty LP balls to the BH.

One of the best players playing this on the world level is Amirreza Abbasi from Iran.
If given opportunity to play internationally, he is probably not far from top 100 in the world.
I have played a few times against him and the biggest issue is that the ball from pips is coming very fast and you can’t block/react to it as it will end up in the net.
Compliment this with strong forehand and I think the limit is very very high…

That's Sebastian, he was pretty sharp when he was playing. Same or bit below fabien Akerstom I guess. I think 2nd Bundasliga league then. Has some good wins as well.

This is a promo for their rubber I guess so yes it's got a bit of a wow factor show reel shots about it.

It's actually easier to deal with these guys than with LP choppers unless they "treated" the LP. All you need to do is serve light backspin to the LP which will give you a weak return that you can end easily.
Usually, it’s that simple while you are not yet at the table :) when you start to actually play, it becomes a lot more difficult.

Wow why is this guy not in WTT? The footwork, FH and even BH level is extremely high. He moves real fast and even hits very strongly with his BH pips (truly using body power, unlike some other European pips players). I think he can upset some high ranked players with this.

Then this guy will certainly give you nightmares too!
Such an unorthodox styles. His opponent here does extremely well in dealing with it and its worth watching just for that but you can see he has to play tona very high level with absolute concentration.

This bloke is amazing at what he does !!! I'm trying to learn how to play with Pimples and it's not as easy as people think 🤔. To play with the touch and feel he has takes years, I believe he would give most players a real test as I can't see many pros playing that style.
