You see, boomers are the most anti-fun ppl around in TT. Sorry but it is kinda true :D

Since you keep on talking about 'convention' and by extension 'tradition' I guess you're part of the uncool crowd too. No wonder almost nobody likes to play TT anymore, when there is a lot of ppl like this in clubs.
So nobody plays Table Tennis anymore because the people who have played it for years insist on playing the game the way it has always been played 😂
I think we should just leave that one there.

If you can't see how turning up with a newfangled attitude to everything and choosing this attitude that shits on convention, tradition and pillars that actually led to you being able to walk into halls as a kid and play TT is more than uncool then ok, good to know.
Do you play badminton with 2 rackets also? 😉

No, it is because of the unsufferable environment of play caused by boomers. You see I dont give a shit about boomers' traditions and neither do most ppl my generation - it is best boomers just play their little sad games against each other....

If we had your attitude the world will still be stuck on oil/gas and blatant racism (yay to convention and tradition!) and there would be no more nice Earth for the future generation.

Fk this shit, I love the sport but I am really inclined to leave it the more I think about the bullshit in it.

Ok dude.
It clear to see your attitude towards the rules comes from something far larger. I don't agree with much of what you write on this subject so we'll just agree to disagree I guess.

My attitude is one of respect for all and it works very well in life, as it has for my parents, my chosen friends and I will pass it to my children also.
For the record you're absolutely completely and totally wrong about boomers. What you encounter at your club isn't everyone but the bigger problem it seems is your attitude to convention because it seems you always know better. That's a character trait of certain personality types but I'm by no means writing here to insult you so I'll stop there because I don't know you.
For all of your progressive views on things (as it seems you see yourself) you don't really seem to have an open mind to why things might be the way they are. And you've yet to learn that it's far far easier to change things for the worse than it is to change for the better. That's the reason why conservatism exists in the human condition.
Anyway, back to the rules cos we're about 3 massive silly tangents away from the start of all of this.
OP cannot play with 2 rackets.
You may advise him that he should.
I think this is poor advice

If humans stuck to convention all the time we would be still in the dark ages. It is precisely the 'disrespect' for tradition that have allowed us to progress to amazing modern tech and even the current state of society. Sorry but I dont subscribe to your thinking and I do quite dislike conservative ppl who are hindering progress all the time.

Dude, give up on the ranting would ya?
Nothing of what you wrote there is even remotely true. It's convention that creates the stability and environment for the next wave of creativity and technology to blossom.
Nowhere have I said that creatively is bad. You just can't understand that it can exist in tandem with respect for what came before, because from everything you've written you just don't seem to have that.
And you wrote that about a generation of people that I happen to respect (no I'm not a boomer).
So what generation was supporting the pillars of the world that you were ungratefully born into?
Seriously, you sound like a 15 yr old having a tantrum because nobody is listening to how you already know everything 😂
Adios

Blahness to my knowledge doesn't play competition or events. So rules are local rules I guess... Enjoy, great, enjoy the game it's amazing.

It's social, casual fun with some older gents at a club or clubs who play hard. 30's, 50,s maybe older group hitting and enjoying table tennis at a standard as a guess.

Honestly play with a frying pan and a fly swatter dressed as a pixie... No problem...enjoy the recreation.

In the real competition world mind. One racket, no fly swatter and frying pan. Pixie outfit is restricted in most events...

Pickleball is for old guys too... it was designed not to be physically strenous unlike a real sport like badminton or tennis.

The interesting thing about TT is spin, and this is why I loved it despite all the bullshit. You can create serves which curve left, right, kick forward or even return back to the net, and it is a thing of beauty. Or successfully executing a chiquita to the deep FH which curves almost 60 degrees in the air, or a devastating FH loopkill which is untouched. These are the things that excite ppl, not some stupid person serving from throwing the ball directly into their bat and then cackling away as he reaps points from his illegal shit.

I didnt update my equipment. My main will always be double inverted because I believe in playing fair. And I know how to beat most pips players even with double inverted unless they are very high level, even though it is a ugly af game which I dont enjoy. The only reason I want to switch to anti is to obtain fun in trolling the boomers and give them a taste of their own medicine. You think anti/pips is bad enough when wielded by an unathletic old slob? Wait till someone athletic, with good FH serves and FH loopkill uses it, and knows how to do all the BH shots.

So you always had a left hand and right hand racket in your profile? I had never noticed that

Am I the only one who thought this thread was about a guy named Hugo De Lima?
its now about one guy who thinks he knows the law of table tennis and trying to argue with everybody about it
but still doesn't bring it to where it matters (a sanctioned tournament) to see how much his view or typing skills works in real life.

having 2 rackets is probably one of the silliest things I have heard,
but never the less, if one does give that idea some credit, it still needs to go through the motions of legality and what not.
but, yeah, some basement player can play with pots and pans too, but it doesn't mean it is accepted in sanctioned tournaments.
and to claim it is legal without testing it out, is really.... whats that word to explain it....

How do you serve from your palm with two rackets?

Or more generally, just how do you serve legally?
i'm waiting for guidance on this question too
hold both rackets in 1 hand? or put the 2nd racket under your armpit, in your mouth, or where?

lol dude what are you honestly talking about? Do you really think you can legally play table tennis with a paddle in each hand? I think you are trolling. If you aren't, you are seriously making millennials look bad.

BTW, I just did a quick google search and it looks like 70% of Melbourne's power supply is sourced from Coal and Gas. Your state/country has a very ambitious goal of achieving 95% energy by renewable sources by 2035. Although it's ambitious, it's also literally impossible. My own state (California) has a similar goal and it will literally not happen.

Do you know that some electric line trucks have to remain out on the job for multiple days in remote areas to install power lines? How will these lineman do their job if their trucks won't turn on? Our brilliant Californian politicians have the ingenious solution of bringing a gas powered generator out to the job site to keep the trucks powered. Perhaps even you can see the irony in that. Or maybe from up on your high-horse you forget about the priceless nature of bringing power those parts of society who do not have it?

There literally is not the infrastructure in place nor available world wide to achieve California's or Melbourne's goals. for example, you would need some sort of battery infrastructure to support the electrification of vehicle fleets, which is not actually a green endeavor. A SINGLE lithium-ion solar battery requires approx 46-66 tons of earth to be mined.

Nothing wrong with wanting to go green, its admirable actually, not when its surrounded in pure delusion. Kinda like how you think its ok for OP to play with two paddles in each of his hands.

anyways, I digress.

Yes it is OK to play with 2 rackets in 2 hands, nothing stopping you except for a bunch of intolerant boomers (you can find them everywhere lol). Make an argument, dont be lazy.

Lol it is not impossible - solar + batteries are literally the cheapest solution to replace all the coal power plants and it is already happening on a massive scale whether you like it or not. No new coal power plants are being built, so eventually yes the goal will be reached once the existing fleet retires. Also, batteries are not the only source of energy storage, there is plenty of pumped hydro being built, and later on we will have cheap af sodium ion batteries.

Only in America you have so many pro coal nutjobs who blatantly ignore the science lol...

You already ignored plenty of points people made in this thread the main one being this:

-how would one serve with the ball in an open palm if each hand is holding a paddle?

Also, read my post again, I said its impossible to complete by 2035. California is not building any new coal plants either. Heck, they don't even allow power to be imported into the state if its generated from coal.

I do it all the time with an open palm with the left hand while holding the blade. It is not impossible and you have to be a bit creative with the grip.

Yes it is possible if only you got some real incentives for eg like South Australia. The coal power plants eventually get retired if they reach the end of their life, it is not rocket science. But anyway, a goal is just a goal. Plenty of goals dont get met, but it doesnt mean that setting a goal is not worth it as it motivates ppl towards the goal.

In China, it is full speed ahead for renewables and they are even exceeding their own goals for renewables.
