Make that 2 for Uda.

Matsushima is actually the worst offender in terms of stats for 2024.
Togami is similarly bad.
Shinozuka is not bad.
Tanaka is actually decent.
Uda is best overall but he's played only 1 CNT player (and won).
Yoshiyama is still better than Matsushima and Togami with his 2 wins out of 3 over CNT players.
Harimoto has played double the MS matches (even higher if counting MT) of some of his teammates.

After WTT CS Montpellier 2024
Overall win rate in MS (no MT), Win rate against CNT players, Win rate against non-CNT players and non-teammates
Harimoto - 73.44%, 30%, 82.22%
Togami - 54.05%, 0%, 61.29%
Shinozuka - 69.23%, 0%, 83.33%
Matsushima - 50%, 0%, 59.09%
Tanaka - 68.57%, 33%, 74.19%

Yoshimura M. - 65.38%, 0%, 72.73%
Uda - 75%, 100%, 76.92%
Oikawa - 50%, 0%, 57.14%
Yoshiyama R. - 57.14%, 66.67%, 60%

China national championships are always a bit unusual on Olympic years. The main team is either skipping or still recovering from the event.

imo the national champs timing was just very poorly planned.

The Chinese have already taken 2 SF spots and they are the favorites in the 2 not yet taken. This might end up like older days on the men's side..

On the women's side, they have a chance to do it but likely much more resistance especially with Odo vs He... this will be interesting...

tanaka is a strange one i thought he would be one of the top japanese players after he beat wcq a while ago but hasn't really done much as far as i can remember (maybe i am wrong)

i hope uda can go far in this tournament, wonder if its possible for him to find a way into the national team at some point
he can't, his forehand is just too big of a loophole, thus he mostly relies on his bh to score, the same can be said for Yoshiyama. These bh-oriented type players are only dangerous in pace and placement, once their opponent adapt to their pace they'll start losing their advantage quickly.

Uda is making big changes to his game, more bh flicks and bh rallies but for now it's still shaky. I hope he can deal with Xiang Peng big blows though, both has similar style but different hand so whoever can protect their bh better will win.

She will overtake Ito if she reaches the final. One more step.

2024/11/05
Ito 2440-175+90=2355
Odo 2238-50+140=2328;
+280=2468;
+400=2588

SWE and FRA: Kudos to JPN for keeping Uda at bay for Paris 2024.

Tough win for QTY 3-2 over Lee Eunhye. She had a major mental lapse in game 3 up 7-3 and losing it 11-7. She did recover, but if she plays like that vs. SXY then she'll lose.

Hoping Odo can take down KM to get to the finals. I think she can. I don't think KM can handle Odo's combination of speed, power, and precision.

Great win for Odo over He Zhuojia considering HZJ's record over a number of top Japanese women:
5-0 vs. Mima
2-0 vs. Hirano
1-0 vs. Miwa
1-0 vs. Kihara
1-0 vs. Shibata
Nagasaki did beat her 3-2 at 2022 Contender Tunis. Hayata has never played her. HZJ did beat Odo once before in 2018 when Odo would have been 14 yrs old.

Enough said.

Odo, Yokoi, Hashimoto and Sato for LA 2028 and Miki House takes back the JNT as Odo said in 6/2023.

Makes me laugh hard all the time too, it will be 4 LONG years, anything can happen, specially with Japan. There's so much density in that women's team it's almost impossible to tell who will be in the OG squad even 6 months before.

The so-called experts and pundits in basketball do this all the time, they crashed Wemby for his 6 pts game 2 days ago, and the day after he was the King after a 25 pts + 5by5 stats.
