Yes, the top-sheet is tacky, but less tacky than Rxton9. It can lift the ball, but the ball falls down almost immediately, whereas Rxton9 when clean can hold for some time. The top-sheet feels also a bit harder than Rxton9, but not really that much, e.g. signif. less than Battle 3, and I think it also a bit softer than B2 Prov. or Nat., but I didn't play with these for long time now. So the top-sheet is not bad at all, for me it is second after Rxton9, when we speak about H3 alternatives... But note that I dislike STN and also Victas TDE, as H3 alternatives (and IIR correctly you liked those), where all these have somewhat similar sponge response. The sponge on DFVP feels OK to me, I have H40, comparable to Rxton9 sponge or B2 BS sponge. For me all these are *slow*, I can't distinguish the level of slowness in between those sponges, and neither can my tr. partners. I would search for speed elsewhere ;-) Good rubber nevertheless...
Thank you for your feedback. Prott is selling that for $10 a sheet so I am debating to try it or not. $10 a sheet is not bad to try something. Thanks again!

Just now comparing the Double Fish VP long time boosted to Powerplay-X recently boosted I noticed one very interesting thing. The VP has much thicker sponge, like you can just tell by looking you don't need no calipers and such. Also the VP topsheed oxidizes less than the Powerplay-X. Does that make it a default better rubber? No. Is it something to talk about? Yes.

VP is pretty darn cheap too, like around 100rmb, and it's pretty bouncy and spinny. I'm gonna try on W968 again.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I was passing judgment too early on this rubber when I got it first.
It's really nice. It is actually on par with H3, it has the arc, it has the tack, In fact I feel like it has more arc on harder impact shots. Which is not a bad thing since it's really good at 3rd ball kills either parallel or diagonal. I kinda did some crazy left-hand Xu Xin like shots with it. And if those land on the table I know the rubber is good and if I committed properly to it they landed without fail.

The sponge feels really thicc. Which is nice since I don't need to brush with it I can just forward hit and the rubber makes great spin. Same thing with counterlooping, just fairly open bladeface and forward hit makes great spin and speed.

I guess the best feature I found is that I can really drive the ball in a way that I try to grab that ball in the topsheet and the sponge and arc it (kinda like Timo style). And at the same time I can try to hit the same ball as I don't want to grab it in the topsheet in fact I want to repel it out as fast as possible (Chinese style). The former is more of a pull ball feeling and the later is a push ball feeling. And the former gives really great stability and safety, the latter one gives that piercing power. So I would say it is significantly superior to B2 BS, it is really not far off from H3... And it is heavier than H3 but I also feel the sponge is thicker so that would be an OK trade.

As dirt cheap this is... dang the Guangzhou devils cooked out a good rubber. Gonna keep on my W968.
I think it would work great with outer carbon too since the sponge is thick and when you bounce the ball it doesn't have that ugly metallic sound. (I like that sound but not on light bounces)

I told you, VP is excellent.

In fact, I'm impressed with Double Fish that I ordered the Qiji and 218 rubbers as well. Maybe next time I will try Polestar as well. But Qiji uses Chen Qi's face while Polestar uses Liu Shiwen's face. I'd rather be Chen Qi then LSW.

To be honest, most Chinese tacky rubbers + booster are good. I haven't really seen many that I don't like. Haifu is good, DF is good, Sanwei Target Pro 3 is good...Battle Max is good (B3 is on the way), Loki N80 is pretty good

Well yes, but not many can do a pull ball and a push ball well at the same time. Most Chinese rubbers suck at pull ball, at least for me.

I saw a few Palios, maybe not DF, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I'm pretty sure Palio is just DF subcontract.

I didn't know that. You mean Palio rubber is made by DF? Which rubber is that?

what hardness is your VP

mine is 40 degrees, initially boosted with 2 layers of seamoon when brand new but honestly the booster seemed to do diddly squat unlike the other chinese rubbers

personally i didnt like VP and my experience is the total opposite, i felt that the rubber has good speed but OTOH the spin is pretty mediocre on medium-powered shots and the arc is as direct as B2BS

couldve been a blade compatibility problem bc the blade i used with the VP on has a walnut outerply with inner carbon (stiga CCF)

well, that is true
but the rubber isn't bad
DF needs to do a lot of marketing and brand push

currently, they are signing up former or outgoing CNT players (which seems to be a trend for many Chinese brands).
DF is huge on balls and tables, just like DHS is previously.

chen qi is also signed up as an ambassador for reactor

offtopic but someone go and try out the new reactor hyper power, i really liked reactor rubbers in the past and this new rubber seems more promising than reactor thunder (which i liked a lot)

Oh interesting. I will have to take a look.

I tried Reactor Thunder and Tornado V5...both are decent, but not as good as Haifu or Sanwei or anything

Wow, the review for this rubber seem pretty good. Maybe I should get one. I see it for $12 during black friday.

How much was it during Singles Day?
