Why does everybody say Pro 05 is HL5 clone?

I just got Yinhe Pro 05 delivered because i keep hearing how good a clone of HL5 it is. I was surprised to see that the core is thicker than HL5.

This is more like HL5x or Atletico Power.

I can't possibly be the first guy who has ever noticed this. Why does everybody talk about pro05 as a hl5 clone or alternative?

Still my favorite blade anyway. I love the feeling associated with Arthur China on FH and a tensor on BH. Maybe the thickness is the reason of this feeling. I'll try to remember making a picture comparing it to the Fang Bo B2. You'll need to compare to the XVT 600.

To answer the title: because I hardly know the difference between those.
It's not a HL5 clone just like Pro 01 isn't a Viscaria clone. They have similar structures but that's it. If you treat them as blades with their own identity you could be very pleasantly surprised

Xvt zl 600 is also this thick core structure. But i knew that going in. So its not really a HL5 clone, despite claiming to be w968 structure.

I'm surprised to hear that. I can't imagine that a thickened core blade can feel the same as HL5.

How does it play compared to Atletico power? How is the quality? Thank you
I haven't tried the 05 yet. I might just return it...because I am not a fan of this structure. I've had a few of this type of blade already, and I don't really like any of them.

Here is xvt 600 and pro 05. Same core thickness. Xvt has higher frequency though because it is zlc.

I think zlc works better on this structure though. Zlc feels quick and snappy. Alc feels more muted, without the springy flexy feel.
Yinhe 05 is KLC, not ALC.

What blade you tried is the closest to HL5 ?

My W81 has a frequency of 1420, which seems unusually high for a true limba inner-carbon structure.

But this may work to my advantage... I like a slightly snappier Long 5 style blade.

The core looks thin, probably same or close to Long5
Don't tell me you measured with the plastic sealing!
