The 4-year contract (rather than 5-year) rumor turned out to be true.

Singapore Smash to have CNY start in 2025, event set to stay for 5 more years

In another boost for the Republic, The Straits Times understands that national sports agency Sport Singapore is working with WTT – the commercial arm of the International Table Tennis Federation – on a five-year extension for the event, which made its debut here in 2022.

This is going to be cutting it real close for 2025 All Japan Doubles which runs Jan 30 - Feb 2. Sato/Hashimoto are listed and are the overwhelming favorites for the coveted All Japan Women's Doubles title. Doubles at the 2025 Singapore Smash starts on Feb 3. Maybe they get a 1st round bye?

シンガポールスマッシュのエントリーリスト見たら北のキムは本選、ピョンは予選から出るのか

雨玲には是非とも本選に勝ち上がって来て欲しい
(Looking at the entry list for Singapore Smash, Kim of North will be in the main draw and Pyon will be in the qualification draw
The opponents who get drawn will be in a cold sweat
I really want Yuling to win and advance to the main draw)

Given the Watanabe has the say on who of the JNT players to send to international competitions, it's possible Hayata and Ito fell through and the latter refuses to pay out of her pocket...

Singapore Youth Smash-2025

World Table Tennis (WTT) has announced a new tier in youth events with the introduction of WTT Youth Grand Smash from 2025 on Singapore Youth Smash-2025. This new tier will stand as the pinnacle of youth table tennis, featuring U15 and U19 Boys' and Girls' Singles competitions. Each event will bring together 32 of the world's top young talents, competing for ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking points and a share of the USD 20,000 prize pool—the highest in youth table tennis.
Born from the success of WTT Youth Star Contender Singapore 2024, WTT Youth Grand Smash events will, where possible, be integrated into WTT Grand Smash event calendar. This placement allows young athletes to compete alongside the world's elite, providing invaluable experience and inspiring the next generation of table tennis enthusiasts.
In addition to offering a premier competitive platform, WTT Youth Grand Smash will serve as a testing ground for innovative playing systems and other elements that could shape the future of WTT. The introduction of these events is part of a broader restructuring of the WTT Youth Series, aimed at maximising engagement and opportunities for young players.
"WTT Youth Grand Smash marks a bold step forward in our mission to nurture the future stars of table tennis," said WTT Chief Executive Officer, Steve Dainton. "Through these events, we are offering young players an unparalleled platform to showcase their talent on the world stage. This initiative not only elevates the competitive experience for youth athletes but also ensures that the next generation is inspired and ready to carry the sport forward."
