Odo has to clean up her serve/receive game. Too many serves going long allowing KM to open up with a strong FH. She also needs a better answer for KM's reverse pendulum serve. Moving way to the FH side leaves her in bad position on the next ball. But 3-2 is better than 3-0. She's gaining exposure to the top Chinese, and there will be growing pains.

Hayata looks back in form beating Yokoi rather easily 3-0.

Might be my imagination but she seemed more patient out there, moving around more intentionally and less frenetically. Her FH was especially impressive, finding unreachable angles that Yokoi had zero chance at.
While it is a good win, Yokoi is not the player on the level that Hayata would be troubled by when she was prime. It starts and the Diaz/Szocs/Odo!/Harimoto/Shin level, basically top 10 maybe 20.

Why is it that Aruna gets better with age, others like Falck regress?
Cause Falck is a tall dude who plays close to the table and needs implacable timing because of his forehand short pips. Reaction time gets slower with age while Aruna who generally plays further from the table and is a looper has more time to adjust and he simply gets more experienced with age. But his stamina still suffers. This is one main reason why he never reaches semifinals or further at large tournaments

Paranang was never a weak player. She just needs to compete more to increase her world ranking. She has quite good wins and reasonable performances against CNT players. But obviously this time it’s fatigue too. She just played a tough 5 game long mixed doubles match before

OJS looking at his racket non-stop after misses.
Same with Pitchford. He was looking at his bat a lot too playing against Aruna

How can quadri aruna dump 2 serves into the net in a row?
Because I the king of service errors was watching. My influence transcends time and space and I apologize to anyone I brought misfortune unto.

Miwa looked bad (poor anticipation and reaction) in her doubles with Kihara vs Odo/Yokoi so I wasn't totally surprised with her loss to Paranang.

SXY gets her revenge. SXY 3-0 Hirano. I had high hopes for Hirano, but got to hand it to the young CNT members, KM and SXY.

Good win for Nagasaki over Yangzi Liu who is a very crafty player that gives everyone trouble.

Yet another very good win for Yeh Yi-Tian of Taiwan 3-1 over Joo Cheonhui. Taiwan has found their successor to the still formidable CIC.

ZYL 3-0 (3,1,5) vs Suh Hyowon...wow.
We will see if playing two choppers in a row tires her out for tomorrow. But knowing how the ball slows down when playing choppers and knowing that consistency and ball control were super powers for Zhu, I had zero doubt she would beat the choppers when I saw the draw. Let's see if Tony's argument that she will be tired is key.
