It was tough going for the Paddlers without the Swedes, but the Blasters were also without Kim Taehyun. I'm baffled why the Paddlers did not put Omoda in from the start where they would have a clear advantage over Cruz ... It would have been either 2-1 or 3-0 if Omoda had been playing. Instead it was Cruz 2-1 (-9,8,3) over Rachel Sung. Then, in the golden game when Blasters picked Cruz for matchup #4, I assumed Paddlers would select Omoda who is considerably stronger and knows how to play against both short and long pips. Instead, Paddlers chose Wei Wang and the remaining matchup was Omoda vs. Tao Wenzhang who just played the last singles match and was very much in the flow and in form. The male/female matchups mostly offset each other.... actually slight advantage to the Bay Area Blasters. I don't know what the Portland Paddlers were thinking not having Omoda play from the very beginning.
Probably some form of participation requirement for Rachel or team players on general. Without that, yhe player choices are head scratching so I would like to believe the coaches are not idiots and we just don't have insight into the full picture

Week 6 Texas vs Seattle, Seattle leading 10-5 going into GG

Putting out Sareen with the 2nd pick was certainly a decision when it was clear as day the goal for Texas was to hide Abusev from Pistej after the match that had just transpired... and Sareen is the clear worst matchup for Abusev on Seattle

Texas pulls off the comeback and wins 11-10 on a golden game golden point

Princeton Revolution and Carolina Gold Rush are doing a our female against your male player in singles today. Carolina's female, Hong Lin, vs Princeton's male, Ievgen Pryshchepa and Princeton's female, Jiangshan Guo (the one who beat male pro, Iba Diaw) vs. Carolina's male, Romain Lorentz. Should be interesting to see if either female can get a game.

With FZD and CM retiring, any chance of getting them to come over for a season? They don't really need money or prestige, so would just be promoting the sport and I think MLTT would be a good avenue to do so.

They said they're retiring from WTT, not table tennis altogether. They will probably still be playing Chinese Super League. Of course, we would welcome either of them or Ma Long if they do want to play in the USA!

Of course, I still expect them to keep playing, which is why I thought them coming over for a season would be great for the sport! If it conflicts with their schedule then even part of a season would be great.

I suspect some way will be found to make this happen but I also suspect ultimate TT has first dibs...

mltt would probably be too easy for them

also, mltt is a very low season, compared with how much teams there are.
to get them to pitch for just 70% of the league matches, will take up a lot of time

You underestimate America, if they want it to happen, they will find the money to make it happen. It's not really about how often they play, but whether you can meet the asking fee. I know players who have priced themselves out of MLTT, but for Ma Long, I suspect there will be more room to break the bank.

And I know who you are talking about pricing themselves out :ROFLMAO:

MLTT has the money, not yet sure about the ability to reach the masses (outside the Bay Area where they can ride the coattails of Lily's popularity)

Ma Long would fill every arena without reaching the masses.

That was a stark contrast between the regular matches and the Golden Game. Texas thought thorugh the matchups more seriously than Princeton did and Naresh came through bigtime...
Despite Olah's usual bitching and then sad attempt to serve super illegally which backfired.

Olah's basic serve is extremely dubious, he really should do better.
Yes, and then he throws a tantrum when someone does it better than him lol. Been this way a while but now the American crowd is seeing it firsthand at Teams in November, US Open in December, and now MLTT Pleasanton in January.
