He has been a rising star forever, he needs to catch up with the Lebruns. Beating Timo Boll as a youngster places heavy expectations on you. Unfortunately, he has been allergic to Chinese so far...18 year old Polish player Milosz Redzimski looks very strong. Cruised through qualifying without losing a game, and just crushed Edward Ly. Rising star?
I traveled across the world, only to fight a civil war in another country and lose... gets ridiculous, WTT!Nina can't find any rhythm at all against Winter. Helped by some net cords and umpire disruptions.
G2: umpire still disrupting with technical faults. Referee comes by and motions with her hand and the problem is solved? Lol? Winter seems to be having her own problems stepping around and twiddling. Messing up her own rhythm.
G3: Nina not satisfied with umpire service warning. Feels like Winter is making too many of her own mistakes trying to play complicated (forehand anti receive, UFO, step around). Virtually no backhand anti chopblocks.
G4: Winter very frustrated. Trying to play all inverted but Nina seems even more comfortable with the rhythm. TO at 4-1.
No tactical change after TO. Methinks Winter hasn't broken out of the double inverted mindset. One forehand and one backhand placement is all it takes to jam her middle. Somehow manages to pull back to 7-4 with some last ditch attacks. TO for Nina.
3-11, 11-5, 11-7
Getting a game is a good start in their second-only international encounter. Definitely much more work is needed on tactics rather than skills at this point.Nina can't find any rhythm at all against Winter. Helped by some net cords and umpire disruptions.

Winter finally wins two points by setting up with backhand Anti. Goes back to playing forehand inverted pivot at 8-9 up. Pop up with Anti forehand at 10-10. Another easy high ball for Nina at 11-10.
3-11, 11-5, 11-7, 12-10
Welp that's the end for our new Anti star. Ironically I think a simpler, more defensive game will help Winter. Inverted attacks are supposed to be pulled out after you've frustrated the opponent with Anti, but Winter didn't even manage to get her Anti game going.
Lol that was a really difficult saying I had to google.Apparently, ZYL is not pleased about the the WS draw, posting the screenshots of her WD wildcard with DHK and her first round of WS.

朱雨玲在炮轰做签吗这是? (ZYL is insinuating that the draw is fixed?)

Blame them for not rigging the draw for the home player... they must do better! Was that really the best matchup she could get? Did they really have to put Quek on Kallberg? They couldn't find a Canadian or Australian?Lol that was a really difficult saying I had to google.
I actually think ZYL got a reasonable first round draw. DHK's play style is not unfamiliar (?) and probably not the most threatening to her (compared to young powerful types or pips attacker I imagine).
OTOH, I know this is SG Smash hence there is a tendency to put local players at the Infinity Arena but... this is a massacre. Let's just go by merit yeah.

Pang proved me wrong and beat Thakkar - very nice.Blame them for not rigging the draw for the home player... they must do better! Was that really the best matchup she could get? Did they really have to put Quek on Kallberg? They couldn't find a Canadian or Australian?
The closest thing they got to a good matchup was putting Lily against a lady I think is a chopper...
They look so chunky too, don’t even look like tt shoesWhat shoes is Zhou Qihao wearing. They do not look like Lining shoes that the CNT are forced to wear.
I don't think they've played each other with Winter's new set up that much. But WTT should definitely explore separation by association for round 1 at the very least.I traveled across the world, only to fight a civil war in another country and lose... gets ridiculous, WTT!
