I will rephrase my question. Do you think its possible that Walther is in fact a good player and that it isn't a shame to lose to him?
Sure. Unless you are Team China.

But Walther just 3-0'd Duda who has recently 3-0'd and beat main players of Team China. But ok.
It’s common knowledge that against any foreigner Team China expects a win. And if they lose, just look at what happened to WMY

It is common knowledge that young players, even CNT ones, who recently entered the professional scene will have a loss to a veteran non-Chinese player at some point early in their career. It doesn't become a problem for their career until it becomes a recurring issue over a longer period of time. It happens to everyone including Ma Long.

So just to clarify have you still given up on Huang Youzheng lol

Trivia Question:

An 18-year-old CNT player loses to Daniel Gorak, a player who was never particularly excellent on the world stage, peaking at WR 52 in 2015, nearly a decade after he beats this 18-year-old CNT player. Seems like grounds for giving up on that player.

Who is this player?

I have not given up on baby WCQ. I did for a time after a long string of poor results thinking he will just be another Zhou Qihao. But it seems he is stepping up

Ok sure Ma Long had a bad loss but he didn’t have a huge string of bad results

It’s not like Huang Youzheng had any opportunities to participate in WTTC or World cups. He only recently started to participate in larger WTT events too. No wonder he cannot show anything.
He did fantastically at the last Chinese national championships and world youth championships tho.
