If the clones merit it, they'd play.but will CNT ever use clones in a olympic or world champ setup?
or rather, they can be good enough to win, but are only good enough to be spectators during the major events
really? If the clones merit it, they'd play.
China has only 2 spots in the Olympics and 5 in the WTTC. It's not like He Zhuojia beats up SYS and WMY in Internal competitions but she's not allowed to play. I understand that you have a blame the Chinese boner, but there's little they can do here.
He played like Felix completely by accident. Absolutely nothing to do with clone practice for Felix and Dang, absolutely nothing.Xue Fei vs Alexis Lebron
What a roller coaster battle 🏓!!
It’s crazy how Xue Fei came to the decider set by playing like Felix!! Hitting earlier and changing placement.
It sucks to see him so close to victory.
A very entertaining match for sure.
Cool story bro.really?
so you know this?
I guess you don't know how players are forced (or bullied in today's term) not to win, or face punishment internally. I posted Yu's story (which is so public knowledge) here https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/fo...-cnt-boss-what-would-you-do.35638/post-501860
merit merit merit.... very official statement from CTTA rep, haha
While I don't disagree with you that cloning might have helped him.He played like Felix completely by accident. Absolutely nothing to do with clone practice for Felix and Dang, absolutely nothing.
From someone who was trying to make fun of me for claiming that Xue Fei was a clone for the RPB penholders that China faced (Felix and Qiu) or that Qian Tianyi could clone Hayata, your first statement sounds a lot like a measured reversal of opinion, even if we are not on the same page. I'll magnanimously accept it.W

Hit the ball early and change placement is not a tactic specific to Felix, virtually most of the top players do this when they're trailing especially the placement thingy.
Xue Fei still looks very Xue Fei-y to me, forehand can be dubious, makes quite a lot of mistakes on chiquita and so on. What I see him do is what's ubiquitous among right-handed modern penhold players.
Before the Singapore smash, CNT had a two-week (?) closed training, which usually guarantees CNT performs well in a tournament .The more things change.
WS quarters six CNT two JNT
MS semis probably three CNT one token euro
CNT seems not to be listening to reports of their run of dominance ending.
if you talk with CNT players, you will knowCool story bro.
Now where's the evidence that Xue Fei or He Zhuojia or anyone else beat the current incumbents at trials and what's their record against foreign players compared to the incumbents??
Out of all the tournaments Ziyang partook in, he probably won only 1 tournament to the best of my memory, Japan open, and that match against Mizutani actually drew the ire and indignation of many a table tennis fan. Guess what would have happened if he won more? And if he beat the top players?? Ziyang played in an era where Chinese players rarely lost to foreigners due to the difference in skill and available resources, that win rate cannot really be taken at face value compared to the post Tokyo Olympics where there are a large number of foreign players who are near/equal to CNT top players strength.
Li Guozheng issues with YZY, true or falsified cannot be extrapolated to everyone, It just doesn't work that way logically or morally. China itself organizes a lot of assymetric competitions among the players like girls Vs boys with points advantage, or two players Vs one player in practice. Did this event occur in normal training practice or a proper tournament? I may as well adjudge this as a case of overreach and poor coaching from LGZ, not an indictment on the team. Have you seen similar behaviour from the current crop of coaches to cast condemnation on the team itself?
Li Guozheng himself didn't spend that long after 2018, nobody knows the circumstances of his departure, maybe this "misdemeanor" was factored in? Have you thought about that??
One thing I know is winners in trials are given chances to play. When LGY, WCQ, WYD, LSD broke out they all became mainstays of the team, your exposition is not a blight on this fact.
At this point, you're just alluding that everything is a masterplan of the boss at the top which is ridiculous.
Xue Fei won a couple feeders in the last couple months, now he's playing more. Shi Xunyao won a couple tournaments now she's playing more, this guy that beat Harimoto instantly got a call up to the Asian cup team.
Ma Long and other Olympic champions were told to step aside for the younger generation. So while I agree that yes, the CNT wields an inordinate amount of power compared to say other teams. It has continuously shown that it wants to adapt, it wants to push younger players to the forefront, and the resources do not always prioritise the big guys, they get it for some time and it's quickly shifted to others when they overstay their welcome.
I'm sure if you dig deep enough, you'd find similar violations in the country you think are democratic models, but that doesn't wouldn't be good for what you promote, would it?
Our disagreements was on the use of the word clone. I did not and still hardly believe imitation partners for WTTC or Olympics purposes only are clones. A clone in the proper sense of the word, the way I know it, or in the context of how things were in years before was just on the team to clone a player. They didn't play tournaments or do anything that other top players do. XF is tenable since he's spent so much time on the sidelines. QTY was a top 10 player for most of last year, and I find it hard to conceive of how an active top 10 player is a clone of another top 10 player. Where's the time to clone Hayata lol? From someone who was trying to make fun of me for claiming that Xue Fei was a clone for the RPB penholders that China faced (Felix and Qiu) or that Qian Tianyi could clone Hayata, your first statement sounds a lot like a measured reversal of opinion, even if we are not on the same page. I'll magnanimously accept it.
Why are they going with this format?so today the Youth Smash kicked in, and the 7 point, BO7 format started.
I spoke to a coach and player who played today, indeed needing to get used to it.
have no ideaWhy are they going with this format?
