Did Lin Gaoyuan get sponsored by a new brand? His backhand rubber has purple sponge

I noticed this at last weak’s Asian table tennis cup.
i know that double fish promotes some stuff with his face but its hard to believe he uses something from them and he’s no longer sponsored by Butterfly so it’s possible he got sponsored by a new brand. Possibly Joola?

Well, as far as I know there isnt any other topline rubber with purple sponges apart from some Joola offerings.

I agree. Joola is the only brand I know has some purple sponge rubbers. But Chinese player usually only choose rubber from DHS or butterfly. They may use blade from other brand (not common though)

Exactly. That’s why I think it’s Joola. They also have Zhou Qihao and recently signed Liam Pitchford so it’s possible they’re on a hunt and haven’t declared anything yet cause Lin Gaoyuan is still testing some rubbers(?). (Though, that’s hard to believe it‘d be during ATTC
Liam is using Dynaryz ZGR and Qihao uses the newly released Dynaryz Inferno

How about double fish? Pretty sure they used his face to promote Dragon Blade ZLC. It could be a custom made Volant Phoenix or Volant Phoenix National.

The red Bolo rubber has Yellow sponge though...

Doubt it is JOOLA, the signing would've almost surely been announced before he actually started using the equipment

Obviously, but the chances seem low that he would suddenly be using JOOLA randomly after years of Butterfly on the BH unless there were sponsorship factors at play. But it is possible I guess.

Gewo Codexx if it's more pink than purple. Maybe a special Bold Dragon? Currently sold with red topsheet and yellow sponge and black topsheet and purple sponge but I think that the topsheet could be opaque enough for a darker sponge.

Maybe since his club right now is sponsored by Joola he decided to try some Joola rubber and he liked it so he switch. Coming from 09c he probably is using a ZGR or ZGX, or maybe he followed ZQH and took Inferno to relive his D05 days

Looking again at that photo, are you sure it's purple, I can't really tell.
Sure it's not the red of Dignics?

Unfortunately the quality got a lot worse after uploading the pic but it’s clear as day in the original photo that it’s purple. But just compare the sponge’s colour to his t shirt or the colour of the rubber itself.

As far as I know he is sponsored by Double Fish and they do have a purple sponge rubber. I'll see if I can find out any more info. It appears he did have that rubber in pics of him playing at Mulhausen in the German league, so will see what I can find out.
