I think so, too, but as you don't know what exactly Haifu contains, I guess, you cannot make any conclusions re its chemical reactivity, no?

To me Haifu contains something which just supports the longer stay of the rubber softness and as Haifu is thicker the Haifu oil doesn't evaporate so fast compared to baby oil. That basically is it.

The reaction is so much faster that I believe it contains an agent that reacts chemically. And paraffin oil doesn’t react nearly as fast, neither will evaporate fast.

Crazy how the conversation is steering clear of OP's question because of something that really doesn't need to be an issue.

That being said, I would would glue the boosted H3 to the blade 8 hours after applying the second layer, even when extremely curled. in fact, I find this better; this can give more tension by pushing the curled parts onto the blade with a roller, and then put a book over the racket for an hour or two to ensure it attached.

I've glued boosted rubber within 3-4 hours when in a hurry. Worst case the edge comes off slightly but nothing you can't fix

tt bosters are petrochemical oils. the sponge of a tt rubber is foam rubber. booster work by getting absorbed in the foam rubber. this leads to sponge expansion which translates in that catapulty feel which we like. petrochemical oils evaporate over time and the sponge more or less reverts to it's original structure.

so i guess gasses are involved, but not in the booster effect, but in the disappearance of said effect.

I have DHS H3 Provincial both sides, boosted it 3 layers after a month, seems like the ball slides if I try the spin. I don't know what made it like this. Maybe, I accidentally drop a booster on the tacky sheet? or because of Loki rubber cleaner that I used? There is some oily something in my rubber.

Boosting does lessen the durability of the H3, but its usually the sponge that wears out. Surprised that its the topsheet loosing grip so fast. Maybe improper maintenance?

I use Prov H3 and since august 2024 it still has great grip and speed (boosted with 2 layers), but the tackiness is gone.
