Does anyone know why LGY did not play at Singapore Smash. He is now out of the top 10. Is he already benched?

His father passed away not long ago. In his social he said he needed some time.

What makes the German team or the Korean team different from the Chinese team in terms of coaching structure?? Coaches are few and far between, and lines are blurred. China just has more players than other national team usually accommodates which necessitates putting couple players under one coach.
the Germans has they own home club, and during a big chunk of the year, the players are all training at they own home club.
China, the home club is the national team. The league club, is only 2 weeks in a year.
big difference.

Very astute observation.
In fact teams like Japan more or less copied the make-up of the CNT as much as possible but retained some Japanese characteristics ( like clubs etc)
But when I point this out, my logic is laughable and I am the foreign spokesperson for China.
Some people think just because the system of governance is different means one team is automatically compromised, inhumane and condemned, and other teams are all roses and petals. Talk about wilful naivety and dogma.
I don't think anyone has said that, contrary to your position. The issue is the balance between truly allowing an individual to compete and fulfil his potential regardless of the situation vs relegating him to being someone who helps fulfil the potential of others or what the country's establishment wants largely on the basis of the assessments people have of his potential rather than some clear and externally validated criteria that is easily fair to all. It's okay to disagree on this, but calling it "wilful naivety and dogma" pretends that there are no issues to be discussed at all, or that there wasn't already a long and controversial history of this in China.

I know another player in the CNT, she had her career high of WR30 in 2017 (20 years old then).
2018.... 7 events with 30 wins out of 39
2019...2 events, with 4 wins out of 6
that last loss was against Hayata, 4-2 (already a wr15 player then), but a loss is a huge sin.

End of international career for her, or rather, beginning of sparring partner role, until her retirement from the CNT last year. 6 years of traveling the world to fulfill the potential of others, as that is a very important duty for each member of the national team.

Fan Siqi is just luckier with more events,
I can go on the list of so many unbalance of allowing an individual to compete and fulfill her potential, and rather relegating her to be a servant of her teammates.

while we have 2024 feeders where CNT sends B team (junior teams) who loose left right and center, I have no idea why they don't reward the CNT A team servants to have some "me time" on the world stage. They have the money to send weaker player, but the stronger players who are only as good as sparring partner are unloved.
while on the mens side, you have older and even more useless players that can still play feeders (and loosing while at it).
Tell me you see no favoritism, or maybe some players are just deemed ineligible for any more internationals, because it is the view of management. so now, they are retiring between 24~28.

Oh ok, then that's totally understandable. So he is still in the main rooster of the CNT tabletennis team.

You should look up his story. LGY’s dad was the reason why he played so well. His dad was very poor and worked around the clock to support LGY’s legacy in tt. Apparently his dad accumulated some significant illnesses due to intense work, leading to an early death.

That is such a depressing story for a son to bear, I am sure the man was proud of his son, well done, LGY.

I get your point, but this doesn't explain a disparity in coaching structure. I'm mostly curious about how many players are in the national team, how the national coaches are assigned to players, and are there any teams with a burgeoning amount of players in the national team. Japan resolves the tension and inevitably hard decisions that need to made by only hosting 7 players + 5 backups in the National team. How are things run in Korea and China?

No more Kim Kum Yong or Yang Xiaoxin on the entrants list. Yang still hasn't played since the China Smash last year, nor has she competed in any club matches in Poland or in the Champion's league this season.
From the looks of the latest Pong Space video, she is expecting a child which explains your puzzle.
