Where's LGL to present the gold medal to Hugo ;) Didn't even see him at the men's award ceremony
Oh I saw that coming a mile away. I still remember when Ito beat Zhu Yuling in an event where the Chinese ambassador at the country's embassy was supposed to present. That killed that scenario.

I think the unreturnable 1st attack does happen - if the opponent doesn't read the serve properly, and in this level, it is relatively rare. So mostly he (or anyone) expects it will be returned. The step-back is part of the motion...

For me the difference was in 2 points: the power, and the relentlessness. He has the power which physically is not present in his opponents mostly. And he was relentlessly using. I will use it I will use it I will use it. I don't care if I miss, if I don't use it, I loose... ;-) Both sides... Cheers ;-)

Will see. I think his defense is good, but you probably think others have even better defense...
I do think WCQ not having the confidence to smash to the wide open forehand was a thinking issue. Hari always relished those matchups when Hugo was away from the table. Chuqin has a lot to think about in terms of rallying.

We already saw Hari play Hugo and we all saw how that went....

But to address your point, usually when a better player is playing another player who he thinks his balls bother or who he can outrally, he takes the shots that minimize his risk of losing the point and expects that his consistency will win out. It didn't work in this particular match but it could very well have worked and it might work next time without Wang taking extra risk. But depending on what analytics finds, Wang may try it more but I don't think that was the problem. Redirecting a powerful ball with a full stroke is a risky shot.

The full stroke especially when the ball came to his middle was a liability. Sure Hugo is powerful but fluffing that many forehand shots in the middle of the match!, Not good.
As for Shidong, I am not too bothered, it was obvious that he had no effective answers to Hugo's serves and first attack, that's something analytics can do. Analytics can't help with your legs becoming jelly again and again mid rally, and your reluctance to hit the ball to the wide open side, nay resorting to drop shots in rallies where the opponent is on the back foot yet losing the point. That's a mind thing. Shidong should be fine in the long run. Chuqin should not have glaring holes like this at this point in his career.

Waste your time then, all the same to me but has this really been fruitful since you followed it up?
I think in your race to be the most prolific poster in here you have really diluted the quality of your posts, why not aim for quality over quantity Tony. Surely that's a mantra straight from your coaching, try to practice what you preach eh.
But better to look for arguments elsewhere.
Weird how my username is your business though. Or somehow in your twisted mind has it become a stick to beat me with?
It's a real trigger for some people eh.
This is now the most pointless discussion I've ever had in here so adios. Feel free to continue posting and keep those numbers up!!! 👍
well, it was certainly entertainingly how you keep dodging it, thinking you so great and question and judge how I congratulated Hugo - like an in person is my style and dont' need to do it in public view on a ttd platform to please you.

prolific poster? its the second time you raise the TTD leader board numbers, so obviously the numbers is in your head. my numbers are up because more people like my posts than what I post.
so stop getting jealous now.

I can clearly see this has bothered you a lot haha.

So you dodge the hugo question, and the day you changed your nick, I asked why you changed, and you also dodge. you becoming an expert in dodge ball it seems. all good and yeah, its pointless, when you keep dodging.
so adios

PS, if you so serious about numbers - post more quality and get more likes. you sleep and wake up, and it is up by 50. stop blaming others.... trying to like half the forum to pick up numbers won't work

I don't understand just why they can't just continue with the itinerary
its like event staff need to prepare for different delegates to present for different winners nowadays

yeah, I understand too, I just don't understand how they can't cope with the loss.
its a pride issue
but it is sports, you cant always win and its okay to loose
that is what sportsmanship is about and refusing to honor the winner leaves a question mark on sportsmanship imo.

I can understand you get emotional or upset, but you are representing your country/organization to award the medals. I can understand if there is ongoing conflict - like Russia/Ukraine, and there is refusal, but TT refusal has been mostly pride from what I saw the past few years.

Hmm, it may disappoint you in the moment, and you may not feel well at that moment. But then you sleep on it and realize, it's just a weakness. Problem solved. From that moment on it simply can't affect you.

Other example, you remember Yuan Licen dirty delaying, and if I remember, also LSD in match the HG sometimes pointed with the hand to the opponent in a gesture to wait a bit. FZD does it occasionally too. It had zero effect on HG. It was solved up front. In fact, such things (even thought you don't prefer it), may slightly boost you...

Other example, recently after I won in a training match, my opponent jokingly complained about my weak BH openings. Which, actually, he's right, are weak. And I was a bit disappointed. But the next day, it's over. It's a weakness. Can't influence me anymore... And as I said, even though you may wish he improves in that, it can actually boost you, kind of unwillingly ;-) Cheers.

It's his weakness... If you understand it that way, you can only wish him well...
how do you know it is his weakness? maybe he wants to do it, but he is not allowed to do it?
of course I wish him well if he faces heavy repercussion for displaying sportsmanship
or maybe it is just a culture of, I'm angry we loss, French people punches tables, and we just boycott award ceremony delegation duties.

Of course, it's possible it is not his decision... We may not know... But someone decided it... And it's the weakness... You're right, sometimes we may not see precisely, who or how, but still, after feeling hurt, you realize, such thing now simply can't hurt anymore...

You have become pathetic Tony.
Tony's table tennis is looking like a joke run by a petty like boy at this stage.

None of this argument seeking looks good for you and you just cannot see it. This is my last msg to you, thank god for the ignore function in here!

i thought you said you will stop posting, even after you private message to me with all your low class swearing and foul language
why you changed your mind?
you should of stopped and not even do that low class private message (2 of them).

should I share your private message in public?

maybe I should just share your private message post, so people can know you better
if you have guts to say it there, you need to also have the guts to swear here too.
foul languages and personal insults doesn't make you the top dog. you not a kid, in fact, the habit of swearing is very low low low low low.
You should of stopped, but those 2 messages with all those foul language and insults.... you not as mature as you think you are.

Pride is an important motivation. You think Wang Manyu will lose to Kuai Man from 2-0 up but beat Harimoto from 0-2 down because Kuai Man is better than Harimoto?
