The audio is so uneven depending on the table. Annett was louder on table 1 than on her own table.

Ricardo Walther posted a video of the team's training in Düsseldorf and they had DHS tables set up.
Correction: they had DHS tables, but no pink ones. At least not to be seen in the video.

Whoever came up with these red tables in an era when it is much easier to test ideas extensively is an idiot.
It’s in the ITTF/WTT Charter to make TT as unwatchable as possible. For the 2027 WTTC they are planning to use white tables, white balls, and white flooring. For the 2029 WTTC the innovations will continue and they will use a table covered in polka dots and use balls with multi colored strips. No official word yet on the color of the 2029 WTTC flooring although I have heard rumors of flashing neon lights during play.

After ITTF Macao which had a great camera angle , video quality and an impressive venue, its really tough to watch the current event in Doha.

I tried to watch the Franz game and it was so difficult to even see the ball. Thanks to the angle you also dont even see the ball spinning.

At least the color of An Jaehyun‘s shirt matched the table, court barriers and walls.

Did Franziska play on table 1? It's not apples and oranges to compare a match on a show table to a match on another table - one of the gifts of Macao was that all the tables where show tables because they only used two for the whole event.

not really, that's Xue Fei true level. He has a decent backhand and good raw power, that's about it. Shinozuka was in trouble with his serve for more than the first half of the game but he was able to withstand and slowly correct the match to his flow. In the 3 final games Shinozuka pinned Xue's middle and bh side then initiates looping rally to come out on top, it worked wonderfully for him
IIRC, Tasei said XF had no power after Muramatsu beat him at Nanjing 2014.

XF looked promising from the RPB aspect 11 years ago.

Keep an eye out for Xue Fei(薛飞), 14, joined the second string China national team just last December. First player from Wuhan, Hubei after Zhan Jian and Liu Guozheng in over a decade. Liu Guoliang commented his RPB is stronger than Wang Hao's when he was at that age.

T6 KKY 4-2 Pota (-9, 7, 5, -9, 9, 8)
G1 77, 79, 89, 810, 910, 911. Pota came prepared. Had trouble with KKY's pendulum serve throughout but had the upper hand in rallies and exploited KKY's FH.
G2 20, 22, 32, 34, 74, 75, 85, 86, 106, 107, 117. KKY put her disrupting long pips to work.
G3 20, 21 dead net for Pota, 51 endline edge for KKY, 81, 82, 102, 105, 115. Pota lost her pace and didn't find it until the end where she started hitting more.
G4 10, 13, 33, 53, 54, 64, 67, 77, 710, 910 TO for Pota, 911 slight net for Pota. Same as G1. Kept hitting to KKY's FH.
G5 01, 31, 32, 42, 45, 75, 76, 86, 88 sideline edge for Pota on receive, 98, 99, 119. KKY recovered half way through.
G6 20, 22, 82, 85 TO for KKY, 95, 98, 118. Pota almost recovered.
KKY's game weakens a lot if her FH gets exploited.

T3 Ch. Lutz WR83 4-2 LEH WR56 (-7, -8, 9, 8, 10, 8)
Paris 2024 WT bronze medalist out.

Lee Eunhye is such an interesting player, to lose when she is supposed to win, and to win when she is supposed to lose...

Apparently it's too complex for you to process. For all the complaints you have about the ITTF WR not being accurate. It's been 3 consecutive upsets between these 2 across 3 years. What this means is that the ITTF WR is not the problem, it's either/both of these 2 that is/are not consistent.

MS R128
T8 Wang Yang 3-4 Faraji (-16, -9, 8, 6, 8, -8, -8)

WS R128
T2 Hirano 4-1 De Nutte (-8, 6, 5, 7, 5)
Hirano didn't find her competitive sense until G3. Still tense until early G3. The TO at 8:6 of G2 by 王子嘉樹/OUJI Yoshiki (rather surprising to see him as the bench coach) and after that the walk to the locker room for a change of jersey were crucial.

MD R64
T1 Lebrun/Lebrun (1) 3-2 Berzosa/Perez (-7, -5, 4, 4, 7)
T5 Ishiy/Teodoro (13) 0-3 Lei/Arpas (-6, -5, -10)

WD R64
T4 Lupulesku/Surjan (16) 2-3 Tsai/Huang (-10, 9, -2, 7, -6)

MS R128
T2 Harimoto 4-1 LJH (7, 6, 1, -14, 3)
It seems Harimoto has modified the initial motion of his service stroke.

MD R64
T8 Franziska/Ovtcharov 0-3 Bae/Sareen (15) (-6, -9, -12)
AUS: Who's overrated now?

So this edition has 2 venues, they are 10km apart and the feeling in both venue is "extremely" different.
not to mention the table 1 area is way warmer than the training hall.

lots of adapting going on.
and a scheduling nightmare to be keep going between the 2 venues (and warm up correctly).
So I won't be surprised if players under perform.

They should of just kept it under 1 roof and remove this kind of stress from the players.

The Dima/Franz doubles loss felt very weird and now there's an explanation. Unfortantely Ovtcharov has to drop from the WTTC:

Dimitrij Ovtcharov: "Nine days ago I had a stitch in my neck - at first the pain got better, but now it's pressing on the nerve. It's a disc problem that presses on the nerve and it always pulls into my wrist. As a result, I have poor control of my movements. It's not possible for me to play at this level. We tried everything up until today's game with lots of treatments with the physios and doctors. But it wasn't enough to be competitive here. That's why I'm taking myself out of the singles. I'm extremely disappointed, as I've obviously prepared well and would have given my all at such a big event to play a part. But unfortunately that's part of the sport"
