Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Maybe my experience is due to the lack of boosting LAC (and R9 40 for that matter). I have always viewed Loki rubbers as the ones being effective without booster, thus worth trying. I boosted J2/J3 and BD 38/40, and they were much spinnier than unboosted Loki rubbers.

Lac does have good spin and nice healthy arc and angle.

J3 is faster, easier to access speed. It has slightly lower throw angle. I dont think spin is less or more, it is also very spinny.

J3 doesnt react much to boosting, its already fast.

Lac has a very good reaction to booster, and becomes very fast and powerful.

RXTON 9 takes booster really well and even loki advertised boosting it (oil filling), For Lac they say that boosting isnt needed due to the more porous kunlun sponge

Which hardness did you test? I have 39d, 40d, and 41d. I found all of them to be faster than LAC

39 and 40 both are definitely slower than LAC

I have a purple LAC. It's a lot like Hurricane 9, but slower. Not very interesting, but it was tested in a rush. It's a special order from one vendor, like the LAC BS.

before last season i experimented with chinese rubbers thanks to this forum and bought myself a rxton 9. it was back then a bit too much of a change for my form to actually been able to play the season with it. i played bluestar a1 meanwhile but was not fond of the durability. so over the summerbreak i took out the rxton 9 i had and boosted it with 2 layers and what should i say, it is really really good! the booster took away the edge of some problems i had when i played it unboosted. like the way too crazy stickiness and the ease to engage the sponge. even though the sponge after boosting is quite soft now (feels like 50 esn) it is still really powerful, something that esn hybrid rubbers always lack. i will still need some time and maybe in 4 weeks i find some quirks that let me change it still but rn it feels like something i can play the season with. for 20€ that is amazing! boosting is not a problem for me because i have a spare blade

Last competition of the season for me. Big tournament, best player was n°100 FR. Best player I played was n°900, 600 points over me. I lead 1-0 10/8, but could not win the game. I lead 6-2 in the 4th set, but I sprang my ankle and then won no more points. I would have lost anyway, but it's shit to get injured on the last set of the last game of the tournament.

Anyway, it was the occasion to deeply test the Telson 100 (boosted with 2 layers of green JieChi), since I only played with it during training sessions before that. And it's a big yes for me, my backhand has been lethal even against way better players than me. It fits my skills perfectly, without hiding my flaws. It responds how I want it to respond : quite dynamic, but not too much. It's between a Codexx 52 and a 45-48° pure ESN (like SuperSelect 45 for example) in feeling, with very high control and speed. It's not sticky but still very grippy, spin is insane and opponents have a lot of trouble to block. I played a short pimps player, and he blocked almost everything out. Even the n°900 lost most of the points when I could loop with the BH.

I will buy some more for next season. I might also try the TIII w81 I have, still under blister.

and thanks for your input on telson 100. since my good impression after booster with rxton 9, i actually thought of giving that a try too, but was scared because most reviewers said it would be super hard and i normally play 48 esn.

Did you see any change in trajectory/arc/throw angle and sponge hardness with this booster?

I just tried a black sheet of Arthur euro black and thought it was really nice. Looked and played great but still slightly shiny and tacky for euro

It's not that hard, it's 47° not boosted.

Throw angle became a little higher, high enough to make it "perfect" for me. Unboosted, I already liked it, but arc was a little too low and I was doing more unforced errors in the net. I did not measure the sponge hardness :/

I got another LAC Pro and been testing it against normal LAC and for sure thd pro is a harder sponge, which is weird since they are both rated at 40deg by the manufacturer. Also the pro is less bouncy and less sensitive to spin, so much better for serve receive for me. This LAC pro is however about the same weight as normal LAC around 51-52g. But I have another pack of LAC pro and when I measured the full package that one is lighter by 5g. So when I get there I'm curious if it will be about 2-3g lighter cut.
So far I like the pro version better on outer carbon blades.

What did you like?

They all have the same sponge I think, the carbon sponge. I thought it a nice hardness, closer to maybe 41 but I don't know I think it's supposed to be harder. I didn't have any trouble sinking into it. I was looking for something less tacky than the air stuff when it gets super humid. I thought it hit pretty well.

I play kind of a serve push hit style. I do like to open and I thought it opened well, though I usually bail on an open rally with some kind of block. I did notice when I backed up it didn't lift up like I might have liked and didn't kick a ton, but I don't play like that a lot on the forehand. It was predictable, linear. Still plenty spinny on serves and pushes. I did use black which is usually better.

I never tune and never liked tuner. I liked speed glue, but never tuner. Even the first variety that smelled like bannanas and was a hybrid. So I can't speak to that. I'm also giving it some benefit of doubt that it was the fist play out of the package.

From a selling standpoint, the black and red tops were both perfect, though I wish they weren't of a shiny nature. The sponge does look cool though carbon sponge doesn't mean much to me. The product looks nice. The black weight was a little heavy. A smaller square at 66. The red was a full sized square and was 76. Since a wrist injury I can't take the weight if I'm playing a lot so I bailed and put on a much lighter tiger unlim blue for the bh.

Its interesting that there are quite a bit Arthur china variations or (vendor Custom orders?) and not for the other rubbers, I assume China is more popular overall
