That Chen Yi comeback might be one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. Does this break her into the Top 10?
By my math this should put her at 11th for now. Ironically missing out on top 10 due to another comeback match, SYB advancing vs Odo from 0-2 keeps her on 10th. Both Shin and Hayata have their best result (Olympics) expiring soon though. Zhu Yuling is also still eyeing top 10

On the latest ranking list (https://www.ittf.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2025_28_SEN_WS.html), Chen Yi has 1440 points and #10 Shin Yubin has 1915 points. To make up the 475-point difference, she would need to reach the final. If Shin also reaches the final, Chen would have to beat her and be the champion. We'll also need to see how Zhu and Hashimoto do. It seems that the best case for Chen would be for Mima Ito to make the final out of that half.

The ZYL vs. SYB QF is the battle for WR#10. But on Aug. 5, Paris points expire so Chen Yi and ZYL likely surpass Hina and SYB at that time. But the battle is continuous as Champions Yokohama is Aug 7-11 where both Hina and SYB are invited.

Only Good For Doubles vs World Finest. Does OGFD have a chance? Not looking good so far. Worlds Finest is good at suppressing Avatar states...

ZYL not playing in Yokohama? I think she and Hashimoto should get the wild cards from WTT

ZYL was auto qualified, not being on the player list means she withdrew. Remember she has quite some stuff going on outside of TT. Hashimoto is blocked by the country limit and could get a wildcard indeed.

Looks like we are almost 100% going to get the match we have been waiting for since Zhu unretired - Zhu Yuling vs Mima Ito. I am indifferent because I would very much love for Hashimoto to beat Ito but Ito is on a different level vs defenders so I am not considering it seriously.

I give Hashimoto a 25% chance of winning. Their last encounter ended in a 4-2 victory for Mima so it wasn't an easy victory. Hashimoto did take Mima to 7 games once at a domestic tournament. Should be interesting.

I don't get it - from the camera angle they showed it was clear that the ball was hidden from Jorgic's view. The camera was below and to the left of Jorgic POV so the ball was not completely hidden from the camera view, but the rule is about the player's view point, isn't it?
TTR should be improved upon. Maybe use AI to properly compensate for camera's view vs. player's view.
