Big day today for CNT
having full strength line up, and already loss 1 of the 3 golds. (claiming all the golds in result time is consider very hard - compared to a given back then)
almost loss men's single last night - men's single is CNT's biggest prize.
So its a big day today with both mens and women's singles on the line.
can CNT walk away with 4 of 5 gold? or will it be less?

There is a rule within CNT - you are not allowed to loose against foreigners. This is a strict rule and it comes with repercussions.
LGY looking at you with a puzzled look after being ousted in his last four tournaments by foreigners in the first round with no repercussions. And he's set to appear in other big tournaments this year. I guess Wang Hao didn't get the memo. So current.

All the while turning a blind eye to CTTTA stripping Yeh Yi-Tian of her US Smash 2025 quota for failing to fulfill her obligations under the instructions or influence of CCY. Now that's what I call a strict rule that comes with its repercussions.

It's getting old to see that biased ball feeder cry all day long about FSQ when she has opted to contribute to the team in a different way just like many of her predecessors who have failed to break through and make the 主力層/main force layer.

One place I would love to host a Grand Smash would be Canada. I’m obviously biased as a Canadian but I’m sure Toronto or for sure Vancouver (I live in Vancouver) has good stadiums to host such a big event (Vancouver has Rogers Arena, Richmond Oval, Pacific Colliseum)

Guy still finds a way to impress the coaches enough and beat his competition in China to still be the 4th or 5th player on the team, just to then choke against foreigners.

@Matt Hetherington might want to comment on the Joola Horizon tables. Is this a design flaw with the Joola Horizon tables or is it cause of the flooring?

Might also want to comment on the difference between the match tables and the practice tables that the players have been using. Players like Ricardo have notice differences between the two.
Not really much I can say honestly i’m not in a position where I can comment on any aspect of it publicly as that’s for my bosses and WTT to discuss not me. What I would say is that we picked up the table sponsorship 6 weeks before the event after the arranged table sponsor dropped out, and that if we hadn’t then i’m not sure if they would’ve even been able to hold the event at all (I’m assuming here).

The amount of work that went into this from a small team to get tables to the US from Germany urgently and to meet everything needed was really a lot and after 19 long days and a stressful 6 weeks before it, I’m definitely read to go home and rest a bit 😇

With wide spread video surveillance, no cash transaction and and its traditional culture reemphasizing, China has evolved into probably the world's safest place for any big events.
As a US citizen, I would reluctantly agree that USA is one of the worst place for such an event, especially for most big urban cities.
yeah, China is great for hosting table tennis tournament.
I was talking about the disappearing parts in China.

If the Smash is held in the US again next year during the same time, that will also be while the soccer World Cup is going on, mostly also in the US. Would it be helpful or harmful to have it at the same time or in one of the same host cities?
harmful

who do you replace LGY with?
someone weaker that will loose more?
Or maybe LGY has some extra protection?

You see, I requote what CNT players told me and you just laugh it off.
I ask them what is the single biggest pressure in the team - is it following the schedule, is it living in CNT with curfew hours, or what. and most of them answer - not allowed to loose against foreigners.

so tell me, who do you know in CNT to say that is untrue?
you dodge the other conversation and now you making more smart remarks about you know all about CNT.
so... what is your sources? tieba users?

you dodge my previous question and you back into it now,

so tell me, why didn't Fan Siqi get more WTT after career high WR11???
What "MERIT" does she need?
She wanted to play more, and didn't get any - and those below her get chances? what logic is that?
a year later she is still good enough to make semi finals in Smash.
what else does she need to do??
smarty pants - you bought it up, will you dodge again?

Yeh's story, since your lack of knowledge is clearly making you look dumber.

Yeh is:
U19 no 1 in Taiwan (gets gov funding)
Senior team no 14 (don't get gov funding)

gov funding has requirement of prioritizing World, Continental events over personal events like WTT or any other individual events.

Yeh wants to focus more on senior, but she is using U19 funding... If I was her, I will resigned from the junior team, and focus cleanly on senior team, and be free from any scrutiny - just like Miwa and Felix, not playing U19 too.
You can't touch the money of U19 and refuse participation - it is a contractual obligation.

and since TPE U19 girls are medal contenders, and a team events - they travel in and out together.
Yeh will not be able to make Smash on time, so Asian Juniors take greater priority based on her contract of using her U19 national team funding.

If you do the maths (or use your calculator), she can't finish in AJTTC and arrive in Vegas on time, and will be disqualified. so CTTTA had no choice but to withdraw her from Smash.

the only issue with Chuang is that, he doesn't want Yeh to be withdrawn and replaced with another player. He wants Yeh to keep the spot, and test fate if she could leave on time and catch the qualifications and even if Yeh is late or no show, he wants the spot to remain Yeh's.

IMO, both CTTTA and Chuang has a point, but one is selfish and one is for the team.
We already have history of selfishness, where you rest during teams and play during individuals from some camps, so managing Pros is a lot more complicated than copy and paste from tieba.

This issue, Chuang tried to get politics involved, but CTTTA could not be bought to task, as they didn't do any wrong doing on Yeh's matter.
should CTTTA keep Chuang's wish, and allowed Yeh to have a knowing no show, and not give the spot to other players - this will create some other problems too.

Taiwan is an individual system team like Japan (oh, you think Japan is like China haha). So if you keep one individual happy, you are bound to keep the other unhappy.

However, Chuang's political influence that attack CTTTA on a couple of other things does hold a lot of merit.
But the topic on Yeh - Chuang accepted AYTTC over Smash and was only pissed off that the Smash entry was cancelled.

So, in case you don't know how table tennis works - MA (national federation) hold the last say to enter or decline players. CTTTA does have this right. Just like CTTA declines Fan Zhendong's invitations few times this year and the fans get pissed.
should we compare FZD and YYT? lol
each has they own stories, so for you, when you don't know any story, just don't act stupid by assuming you know it all.

PS. I actually don't mind being called a ball feeder.
Since my role is to support players and even when the likes of top players like Fan Siqi or Zion Lee ask me to feed balls to them, I know I am helping them.
unlike you - all you do is trash and bully non Chinese players.

that is a nice photo.

this one isn't sadly
1 of them couldn't even pitch due to visa issues
1 of them meant to win and got KO in R16
2 of them couldn't get pass the 1st round.

so is it safe to say, the 3 of them got stuck with Vegas's vegas?

Oh yeah, the USA is soooo horrible that millions of people immigrate here most illegally to take advantage of it. I don't deny the USA has it's problems as does every country in the world. But as a law abiding citizen myself, I'm quite happy here. Carry on.
Law abiding citizens get kidnapped and disappear without legal recourse. Habeas corpus is dead. And yes, Tony, China's treatment of the Uygurs, Tibetans etc. etc. (and general oppression) is horrible too. Totalitarian, repressive shitholes should be shunned, the nazi ones doubly so.

everyone told the flooring was poor: who's the basketball idiot in America that declares it should be wooden flooring everywhere + air conditioning at full blast so that the ball had curious moves ?

Those are the reasons why the US should NOT EVER FOREVER HOST ANY MAJOR EVENT. They don't take it seriously, they take it like beer pong.

China now has 6 players in the top 10 women. Kuai Man moves into #4, Zhu Yuling into #6, Chen Yi into #10. Honoka Hashimoto is now #19.

For USA players, by her win over Lily, Amy Wang moved up 9 places to #56. Lily moved down 1 spot. Jessica Reyes Lai is now 3rd highest, moving up 33 places into #95, 3 places ahead of Sally Moyland. Irene Yeoh moved up 212 places to #312.

The only change on the men’s side in the top 15 is Felix swapping places with Truls at #6. Tomo is just 50 points behind Hugo for #3.
Lilian Bardet moved up 43 places to #41. For American players, most notable (to me at least) is Ved Sheth moving up 125 places to #291. Xiangjing (Sean) Zhang gets his first ranking at #257. Victor Xie and Nishant Lebaka also made big gains.

In the junior rankings, Miwa and Felix have more than double the points of the #2 player.

I also want to know what is the story behind the wooden flooring.
1752581983812.png

you can just have rollable synthetic material... you don't have to have wood.

when I questioned LOC during WJTTC in Cape Town, they said, ITTF gave them the specs on how to lay the frame and then put wooden planks on top, to set for the base for the rollable synthetic material.
ITTF gave them the full specs, on how thick the frame/plank need to be, and how many cm apart.

to me... you can just put rollable synthetic material on top of concrete, and if the floor is rock hard, just have thicker versions, ie 6.2mm ones, not 4.5mm ones

I’m sorry but perhaps you can enlighten me as to which Americans you think were involved in making decisions about this event? I find it strange that people blame the host country when it has nothing to do with them. Do you think a city like Las Vegas is not capable of hosting a major sporting event?

There was a plan in place to have two arenas, whatever happened or caused it to change just weeks out from the events nobody knows, this was clearly a very late contingency plan that was made to ensure the event could go ahead.

It has nothing to do with how much the US cares about table tennis or not.
