I guess the title says a lot why someone should use Glayzer on backhand side over most other rubbers.
First of all if you like something else already then use that. You know how to play H3 on BH or D09c on BH... use those. You mastered Tenergy 05 and random ESN 48degree rubber... use those. I don't think you are wrong I like H3N on BH and V>15Extra as well so I get it.
So what can Glayzer offer? Good price. 45EUR is very reasonable price nowadays. It has reasonable weight, around 49g cut to a blade at max thickness. That is not bad at all saying some ESN rubber are above 50g for same cut size.
It uses spring sponge x which is probably the best air capsule sponge of any manufacturer. Why is that good? It has air cells inside the sponge and to my experience spring sponge x retains the air pressure inside the tiny capsules the longest time. In layman experience it would make this sponge type the most elastic of all available sponges. (and if you have some tools to put the sponge under over pressure you can fill these air capsules up to required air pressure to achieve best elasticity for yourself and spring sponge x will retain this desired capusle pressure for longest to my experience)
The topsheet has similar grip as Dignics. Compared to Tenergy the Dignics tophseet grip is porabably its best property and Glayzer has the Dignics grip level. Why is the extra grip good? You can manipulate the ball more as you wish. More thinner contact, more fast contact, more flat contact and you can combine these as you wish.
I like the Glayzer on my backhand since I can do better banana flicks, I can do more agressive serve receive pushes on my BH side than most ESN, Chinese or Tenergy rubbers. Because of the better grip I feel confident to dare to try more thin contacts (agains spin) because i have the confidence in the rubber not slipping me into the net.
During blocks I feel I can impart a bit of topsin on the ball insted of just flat blocking which makes my opponent miss shots since the spin does speed the ball up on table contact.
If I step back and I get very heavy topspins I feel I can contact thin and use the friction of the rubber to counter the spin of the ball which I don't feel with other rubbers. This does creates BH counters that look like Liang Jingkun does, it feel amazing over the table.
If you are in a rally and someone spams your backhand (which I get a lot) now with Glayzer I feel like I give it back some spins and make the ball kick on table to throw my opponents timing off. This works great but also this grip of the rubber keeps me in play longer.
And just don't think for a second that if you buy this you will counter every open up spinny loop 100% or rip from 3 meters away all the time. You still need a strategy and you need to choose the right shot for your situation, but at least you know the rubber has the grip to allow it. And maybe because of this you make 3-4 less mistakes per set that might give you the match.
I've been trying to convert to Chinese style backhand with Glayzer and during this journey I have tried some shots that normally I wouldn't have dared and I did them agains ex provincial Chinese or actual provincial Chinese players and many were successful and that feels good as hell. Even if you do it against the 8th best in the village and 3rd best in your family it feels good.
I welcome most advanced players to get a Glayzer and try it and if you played with ESN or Chinese before what is your expereince with the grip, durability, speed, spin etc because I sure as hell feel it's very close to Dignics performance and much better than Tenergy in many ways (for less price).
