Most people would talk about the equipment. But I really like the bit @Dan mentioned.

He said "if you told my 11yo self that one day i will be reviewing ZJK's blade with him, I would've laughed it off"

It was a really short statement. What really is how imagination has turned into reality. It's inspiring to many to be honest. Well done @Dan

ZJK is really one of a kind - hot headed, drama but extremely disciplined and the hunger for winning just insane.

Hope you get to review Chen Meng, Ma Long, Fan Zhendong equipments!

Dan has lost the last semblance of credibility as a TT equipment reviewer. Claiming that a 50 degree esn rubber is suitable for "those who are still learning the strokes"... come on.

come on.
With the rubber trend getting harder and harder, I’m not surprised 50 degrees is considered by the pros (and Dan now since he is a high level) soft. Personally I find 50 degrees too soft for my liking, but to each their own

Not only a trend, but a slower ball. From pros, no one is using Tenergy anymore, which is 47,5 ish. This is not about pros, but regular players, so Tenergy is still very good, and other similar rubbers also. But if you take Glayzer, which is really decent rubber for learners and also standard play, it is something like 48-49-ish, which is not really far from the statement. As the harder sponge compensates for its less springy characteristics in this case, and also in the case of hybrid rubbers.

ZJK should go play for Macao. Maybe he can still be a top 15 player.
Why does ZJK like the J1 over the previous Bluegrip C2, which has the same hardness.
From TT11:
"The BlueGrip J series introduces a groundbreaking combination of two top-performing rubber technologies. Developed under the guidance of DONIC’s new partner, Zhang Jike, this innovative series merges the strengths of the Bluestar A and BlueGrip C lines. The top sheet is based on the high-performance mixture from the BlueStar A series, while the sponge structure and pimple geometry are borrowed from the BlueGrip C. The result is a rubber that delivers outstanding dynamics, exceptional spin potential, and powerful performance—all while maintaining excellent touch and control. The BlueGrip J series is available in three variants to suit different playing styles: J-1: the hardest version (55 degrees), designed for maximum speed and power J-2: medium hardness (52.5 degrees), offering a balanced mix of speed, spin, and control J-3: the softest version (50 degrees), providing superior touch and feel for spin-oriented players Chinese table tennis legend Zhang Jike played a key role in the development process, dedicating countless hours to fine-tuning every detail. The final product reflects a perfect blend of the most successful features from two proven series—earning it the name “J” in honor of Zhang Jike’s contribution."

So a) it may well have similar hardness, but different construction, and b) It might just have a little bit to do with his sponsorship and royalties...

It sounds like J1 basically uses the topsheet from A1 and the sponge from C2??

So the J1 is a slightly less tacky version of C2?

Thank you TTD
Playing with world class players like ZJK is a dream come true. I have been a member since more than a decade and I have viewed all the TTD videos so many times. I am so happy that today with persistence and perseverance, Dan and TTD team has been able to achieve such goals.
Also, with time, I have seen that each TTD member has improved their game and brought up their level to hold their ground in rally against champions. It is hard work and dedication from everyone - be it front of the camera or behind it. So everyone deserves my applause and sincere thanks.
Regarding equipment, I think it is a personal choice. ZJK can play with anything he wants, he level is Next Level. For mortals like me, who play for fun and just try to control the ball, I believe whatever makes me happy I will use it.

Cheers, KM1976

Timo said the same thing about Dignics 09c. Just another way in which Dan plays like Timo.

Wow that one finishing shot was unreal! Dan must have felt amazing hitting that past the one and only ZJK.

Great video! ... I want to try the Donic J series rubbers.
I want to try whatever the Dane was using when he went 9:7 against ZJK and made his opponent sweat like an over-40 player 🤣
