The most dangerous underdog lefty in the world lost to the most dangerous lefty server and backhand in the world...
The saddest part is that he was up 9-4 in the 5th and lost 7 straight points. I don't think he appreciated the danger of the moment.

Things have been bumpy for Yeh Yi-Tian since the run-in. Kuo Guan-Hong is still early to tell.

Liao Cheng-Ting looks like he should be much better than his results suggest he is. If he were early 20s he'd be a player to watch, but already 29.
he was top 3~5 in Taiwan for many years, the past few years got moved down the ranking list with the likes of Huang and Feng.
On a good day, he is still very fearsome.
Has a good winrate in Polish superleague and will be playing in TTBL this coming season

Prodigies don't lose 0-3 to Cho, they lose 1-3.
yeah, since Cho, a top 20 player earlier this year, beats Kao 3-1 and Huang 3-0
little Kuo did pretty well to keep the fight alive, finishing with 39 points over 4 sets.
luckily Cho is a much higher ranked player, and not 2 years younger otherwise you going to go on for many posts.

have to say, Kuo first year playing seniors has so many good wins already. Played so well for his 1st season that I had 3 clubs wanting to pay good money to sign on Kuo and to build a long term relationship. Kuo refused and says he want to take it step by step. Way ahead of the curve and no commercials too.

YYT imo has been rushed way too early to do commercials (with CCY).
I was there when they shot 1 of them, I can think of a min of 3 commercials the past few months.

and flying halfway around the world to play feeder USA and then Sweden Smash qualification isn't the best idea imo.

CCY did list the amount of events they have planned for Yeh, and I was like, good luck - her first time going for full scheduling.

whats the name of the french 13 year old and that long list of 20+ juniors where you had to ask for it to be filters down to save his name? I have never heard of prodigies can't taking on kids 1 or 2 years older (the whole meaning of prodigies is, he is top of all the kids, including those older than him/her).... i guess we need to keep it same age for NL's prodigies, since our world wide definition of prodigy is different.

lol
lets wait for Faraji focusing on seniors, he still focusing on kids this year

are you really trying to compare Faraji with Kuo?

Not at all, just pointing out that the standards for players tend to shift depending on the moment, you lose to a 65th ranked player 3-0, you suck, you lose to a 65th ranked player 3-1, you hear about how the player used to be top 20 and other things. Let the kids grow up!

that is a list of 20 kids that beat your prodigy (while you cherry picking) and that was only this year's youth event. I haven't even factored in seniors.

SAKOWICZ Mateusz (POL)
IWAIDA Shunto (JPN)
HIRATSUKA Kenyu (JPN)
OKADA Sora (JPN)
ESSID Wassim (TUN)
CHENG Hong Yu (TPE)
KURMANGALIYEV Alan (KAZ)
CHOI Jiwook (KOR)
ZHOU Guanhong (CHN)
HSU Hsien-Chia (TPE)
KRIVOKAPIC Jaksa (MNE)
OCAL Gorkem (TUR)
BHATTACHARJEE Ankur (IND)
LEE Seungsoo (KOR)
CHANG Yu-An (TPE)
KIM Gaon (KOR)
BAE Won (AUS)
LAM Nathan (FRA)
CLOSSET Tom (BEL)
TESSIER Noah (FRA)
LOVHA Mykhailo (SVK)

other than Asian Champs last year, he only has so-so results, good, but not exceptional.

prodigies challenge upwards - and this isn't even Asians only, it includes the Europeans and Africans.
of course he can remain a kids and only play within his age group. Maybe don't call him a prodigy and let him be a kid and grow up :)

Yes, but that is not the argument here, the argument is that he lost 0-3 to Cho who is ranked 65, he is not so good, his forehand is too big and then this list of juniors came up to support the point, he is overplaying junior tournaments, he is not a prodigy bla bla bla.... So have you published the list of players that Kuo has lost to and shown that he is super special even though he lost to Cho? Or since he is Taiwanese, he can do no wrong?

you can do that, since you have so much time thinking of yesterday's things.
btw, you should really check, since nothing can be worth than that 20+

You have already shown how much time you have to put down non-Taiwanese players.
i didn't put down that kid
he lost so many times to random players, its not like anyone can hide the facts.
should I lie about it and be like a tb. Your way of arguing is like tb now, keep shifting the goal posts and dodging facts.

why don't you agree that your prodigy kid is good, but inconsistent, surely based on facts.
if he only lost against way stronger players, that is a different story.
that is 20+ kids, and I didnt' even do times 2 behind those names

talk facts buddy and you not listing any facts or stats, other than cherry picking that suites your narrative. don't be like tb. hope you don't end up being a ej next.

that kid lost against 20+ kids and still has a lot of growing up to do, as you wish for.

any ways, time will tell, but first, he needs to beat kids that are 1 years older than him a bit more regularly, and not have mama and papa bear protecting him. Being a prodigy does comes with its challenges (I think someone said in KTT thread)

Most kids are inconsistent, even the top prodigies, the only one that I remember who walked on water was Fan Zhendong. Even Harimoto was losing to lower rated players under the pressure of expectations.

You remember when Hugo was overrated? Even when he was winning events that showed he was at the top 4 seeding for the Olympics, the evidence you cherrypicked to come that that conclusion because you were unhappy with LYJ's seeding was fairly ridiculous.

Faraji is not at the level of currently many of the Asian juniors. Usually, this is coded racism to put down the development of a junior who is getting more press that Taiwanese juniors. So I have come to accept it for what it is, these are kids, let them keep their own pressures and not deal with crappy pressure from onlookers. People take different paths in life, your opinion is all well and good.

That was amazingly ridiculous. And Florian seemed to have taken a leap too, I didn't think he was at that level.
