so hes 2170 TTR. Is that about 2400-2500 USATT? And hes definitely better than Dan. How much better though? Is Dan maybe around 2100-2200 USATT?You can look up TTR for the beast Here
It's almost like the pros relax when they see Dan and bare their fangs when they see Tom and Beast lol....Current TTRs:
Tom 1875
Beast 2201
They don't take Dan seriously, but he has improved and the others' level they are used to. Now if Dan would finally make the switch to penhold lolIt's almost like the pros relax when they see Dan and bare their fangs when they see Tom and Beast lol....
To put things into perspective: German TTR rating you get once you are registered in a club and play an official match. However, WTT and ITTF databases are linked to TTR and contribute to your rating. Youth players get bonus points every quarter here and all those foreign kids playing WTT events get even more free points potentially skewing their actual level. Tom played a few events in the early 2010s like the China Open (there is footage online). He is registered for Grünwettersbach and played a few matches including against Dima in the first Bundesliga. His rating is actually too low for his level. He beat a 2000 player in the third Bundesliga and may be able to put up a fight against the stronger players, but it's very tough for him there definitely. Ricardo Walther estimated Tom to be on the level of an Oberliga player after his match against Dima. That's below third Bundesliga. Tom started with 1856 after the English Open 2011 and has had only had 21 official TTR matches all in all. That's nothing, I'm a hobby player and have over 500 so far. Beast on the other hand went the pro route and climbed up from 1765 in 2018 to his current ranking having played 335 official matches so it's very accurate.Current TTRs:
Tom 1875
Beast 2201
So in other words, Tom's TTR is kinda unreliable. To put things into perspective: German TTR rating you get once you are registered in a club and play an official match. in other words, Tom didn't play enough competition to have an accurate TTRSo in other words, Tom's TTR is kinda unreliable.
Iirc it was some kind of back problem, which shows itself in his somewhat stiff demeanor. But the way he works around it and produces quality shots despite looking stiff is quite impressive.People shouldn't rag on Dan. It is my understanding he had a very bad injury when he was playing more seriously and is just trying to do what he can with what he has to work with. Even with that being said, he is way better than 2200 in my opinion. People also need to remember he is trying to make interesting videos, not show off his real level.
He's probably 2000-2100 level. His shots have very low quality for an adult, it's low quality even for a teenager, possibly due to his injury. He compares well with 2000 level older pre-teens who are very consistent with good feel, but suffer from poor power.People shouldn't rag on Dan.
