Ryu Seung Min against the world!

Ryu Seung Min was a Table Tennis player who had a peak rating of 2 in September of 2004. He was also the Olympic champion of that year, defeating Wang Hao 4-2 in the finals. He mainly uses the Ryu Seung Min G-Max with Tenergy 05.

Ryu Seung Min retired in 2014, and since then the game has changed a LOT. How do you think can he fare against the current meta? Who would be his best/worst matchups? Let's separate this into 3 parts:

A: A Ryu Seung Min right after his win/during his win in 2004 suddenly gets teleported to 2025.
B: Ryu Seung Min is born on August 5, 2002, making him 22 by the 2024 Olympics.
C: Ryu Seung Min comes out from retirement!

What style/equipment changes would he make? How high would his ranking be?

I think this is an easy one
2004 still had speed glue
after speed glue ban, jpen players lost a lot of advantage
with the 40+ ball, they lost even more.

So much advantage was gone from these rule changes, and only plenty of disadvantage left, and this led to Jpen not being used in the professional space for the past decade.

So for RSM to dominate today, he would need to change his style and there is no guarantee he would play well being a 2 wing cpen player.

Yeah I know about these things, thats why I'm asking how he could adapt and how well the adaptation would work based on the 3 scenarios. Imo, I feel like he could almost fully adapt in scenario B, for C he is much too old to be better than the likes of LSD or WCQ, and for scenario A his Jpen style might be a little too slow...

C, he wont feature against the current meta
Let's answer this first since the other is harder to assume. Yeah I 100% agree with this, no question. He's just not in form anymore...
B, he would use shakehand
As for this one, it's not so certain. Felix and Dang still makes it high, and Korea is one of the most Penhold populated places (specifically Jpen). That said, it wouldn't matter much since the other choice is only Cpen with RPB, which in the current meta acts basically as shakehand.

How about ranking? Do you think RSM would have what it takes to get to the top, something he never could?

you are right, Korea used to the be a top nation with penhold
name me one top Korean penholder born post 2002
I'm not giving you my thoughts, I am just mere stating the facts that your theory of Felix and Dangs of the world won't change the fact that Korea is a shakehand country.

this is impossible to say, it is like if Ma Long was Cpen, would he still be GOAT.

Good point. No explanation needed, that's just a good point. Speaking of which why are you a Penholder?

Well of course it is impossible, but that's the fun in it! No right/wrong answers, just speculation!

lol tbh i started as a penholder but then after a month of training (i live in china i just got vpn) i slowly switched over to shakehand because i noticed i just played better as shakehand lol tho penhold is ton cooler :)
because I am born way before 2002

Its really easy,

Due to golden viscaria and zyre 03 advantages being only available for the shakehand virgin players;

Butterfly would develop with Ryu Seung Min the Butterfly Golden Cypress G-Max S with genetically engineered golden hinoki made on butterfly transgenic research lab and then sell Zyre 03 Hard, which 3.2mm sponge could only be managable by gigachad jpen players, next he just wins all tournaments due to leg movement and forehand diff.

Oh yea mb bro i wanna try out Yinhe but ive only tried butterfly, stiga, donic and DHS
'only' makes me jealous.

Anyway Yinhe is a very good brand, from the rubbers (Big Dipper, Jupiter, Mercury), to the blades (N series, T series, and the Pro series)

Of all the brands, Yinhe and Sanwei stand out as the best price/quality ratio (though I think Yinhe is better in this regard)

Ah yes that is interesting, Yinhe seems like a good brand because it's good quality, yet great price
Yes, very very worth it. I recommended someone DHS W1130, Friendship Battle 2 on forehand and Yinhe Saturn Pro on backhand. I heard it's very good
