Hey, y’all I’d thought post a quick review on the Hurricane 8-80 (Boosted with Rubber cement) since I‘ve been using it for several months now.
The blades I’ve used this on are:
* Hurricane King Wang Chuqin
* Hurricane King Acb
Currently using on the Acb at the time of this post.
Initial impressions when first trying this rubber was that it felt slow and lacked power, but very stable.
Blocking-
It’s very stable and easy to adjust to
It can be a tad bit sensitive to spin, but nothing small adjustments can’t fix.
Topspin-
The amount spin it generates is pretty great and definitely catches people off guard sometimes. I think its lack of speed with the high spin is what throws people off sometimes.
Counter Topspins also feel good nothing to really go in-depth about.
Flicks-
Very easy to do and everything seems to go in even when it looks like it’s going to go out. Does exactly what you need it do.
Speed & Power-
It can seem underwhelming when hitting or warming up. Once the people who are blocking for you get used to the spin, they have a pretty easy time blocking the ball back. But like a H3 it forces you to use your body to get the best out of the rubber. A fast blade can also make help up for the lack of speed/power that’s why I use the Acb.
Match play-
Now match play is what matters the most and the stability is your best friend. It allows to play a little more aggressively because it a gives you certain level of confidence to be able to trust that your shots will go in. Ever since I switched to this rubber l’ve been winning more consistently. I highly recommend this rubber, even if you’re not a fan of it, it would still be good use on a back up blade. Its very durable, I’m still using the same sheet I started with and I play about 2-4 times a week, 3-4 hours each session.
