she did in the third game. it was Doo who rejected it by giving one back.
It wasn't a rejection, it was an acknowledgement. That was the way it used to be done, but some players still try to fight after the mercy point, Doo just agreed it wasn't worth it.

Maybe Lin Yun Ju´s choach change was not a good idea, but the las two tournaments he lost very closley to WCQ so i think his form right now is pretty good.
He is playing well, he met opponents who were playing extremely well, Chinese Taipei team is looking pretty strong, the results are masking are dangerous team. Feng has leveled up a bit, I was amazed that Coton survived the onslaught, but Coton is also a special player, but the early loss might give Feng some serious upset chances since his ranking will not reflect the growth level.

but the game ends at 11 points, not 10. you shouldn't be entitled to winning a game just because you reached 10-0.

Of course, but that was not how prior superstition around winning 11-0 used to work. The etiquette was usually what Hashimoto and Doo did, one player would give the mercy point, and the other would give a point back to acknowledge it was just to avoid some superstition around winning 11-0 and the score would be 11-1. Of course, as with all such superstitions, it was not consistently believed or executed and the big match that largely made the practice go out of style was Liu Shiwen winning an 11-0 game vs Ding Ning in the 5th game in 2019 WTTC. I think it helped people appreciate the importance of maintaining your mindset and not letting silly things distract you and since then, many players see nothing wrong or right about winning 11-0, it is just a fact of life now. Hence Hashimoto doing it both ways in the same match,

Is it just me?

I find the crowd a bit rude and one-sided.

After Lin Shidong defeated Togami. Most of the crowd left before the next Korea-Japan match.

The arean looked really empty and sad. I get it, Chinese supporting their nationals.

In the Europe Smash when Chinese playing Chinese, the Swedes didn't just stand up and leave.

People watch the matches they want to watch, they paid for their entertainment, they shouldn't be forced to watch what doesn't entertain them. Even I am not entertained by all the matches, talk less of someone watching a match that does not excite them, especially live when there are no distractions unlike on TV when you can do multiple things.

No. That's commercialization at work.

As a Tieba user once put it, those are 人迷, not 球迷. That's how the new generation behaves. As Table Tennis Kingdom points out in a recent article, that is a good thing and the senile crowd at Japan Open was not. Throw out the old mindset. Get used to it.

There is 2 Ps that is very important to today's table tennis players lives.
Physio
Psychology

I used to feel Physio is more important, but the more time I am spending in the pro circle and having conversations with the parents, it feels like Psychology requirement is getting worse.
PS. I don't just deal with Taiwanese players.

I said the same things to the parents as I am saying on TTD. There is no time to rest, same tournament, different country, same opponents and no affordability to rest and take a long holiday.

and we were talking about how FZD is so much happier in Germany and away from chasing ranking points.
Not surprising though. Most people in most jobs would prefer more rest, long holidays, and less pressure.

What a unworldly long rally play between LSD and Togami that ended a terrific match.
Togami, for his part, is the best assistant player who contributed this play.
Unsurprisingly, it's the backhand loop from LSD that ended this seemingly forever lasting play.
Some fans don't like LSD. I don't know how anyone would not like LSD for giving fans such fantastic play.
Any player, past or current, can display such looping magic from both wings like LSD?
Rally of the tournament thus far for sure! With that said, IDK if I'd call LSD's FH loop magical. Togami's FH loop seems more threatening, a lot of more forward going momentum than LSD. I think LSD needs to fix his FH loop if he wants to be the next grand slam winner.

Feng's rise is probably offset by Kao's slump though. Maybe Kao should switch back to the W968, and I see another lucrative opportunity for my consulting services :ROFLMAO: Seriously though, IDK what's going on with Kao recently. He looks like he tweaked something in the match against Moregard. Is that something that's been bothering him? Maybe @Tony's Table Tennis knows. If not then chop chop, let's get that dough for my EJ advice!

In your world, would most jobs would end people up seeing (self funded) psychologist/psychiatrist?
Get injured on the job, and self fund your own medical bills + get penalized (with world ranking drops) for not able to pitch to work despite a doctors note?

Psychiatrist? Yes. Seems like everyone has a therapist these days. Self-funded? Of course! Here in the states we all have to pay for our own health insurance. Doesn't Taiwan actually have universal healthcare?

too bad, I work with pros.
you on your own here.
Be a venture capitalist and take a chance! You can be the Y-Combinator of TT! My pitch is that with $0 investment our profit margin is a guaranteed 100%!

The last point once again highlights the problem with Togami's game, always going for the extremely low-percentage winner.

It's becoming clear that his obsession with Puroresu is getting in the way here. 係又必殺技カミソリドライブ,唔係又必殺技カミソリドライブ,成個盲閪噉,𨳒那星。

Where he got the idea of reaching the QF, which means getting past not just LSD (1W4L) but also potentially Karlsson (1W3L) at that point, is beyond me...

A friend told me that the point made him wonder whether he plays table tennis. And I responded that the point gives me hope for table tennis, the guy who hit the ball harder didn't win the point so there is still room for other things to win points lol...
