She's their best and most stable player then and now, so clinching grand slam could potentially result in a "I've won it all, what's next for me?" mentality, and maybe even retire before LA. Just my own two cents.

from the footage, one thing was clear: CNT was pissed that Chen Meng won.
If they didn't instructed Chen Meng to loose, looking at how pissed they are, they sure all bet for her to loose lol.
I can't think of a 3rd reason on why they would be so pissed.

That's my point though - FZD not winning cannot be by instruction if he plays Wang in a final. If they couldn't instruct Chen Meng, they can't instruct FZD,

My point though is that if CNT couldn't pick SYS, then if FZD makes the final, the result is up to him as well if he faces WCQ. Gotta question the logic of that post.

We all know that CNT wanted SYS to win, but Cheng Meng refused to obey.
FZD could be in the same situation. By logic, CNT want WCQ to win. So it's up to FZD to obey or not. If FZD decides to return to CNT, he might be in the same situation with 2 choices:
1. He does not need to obey, but then he will be hated. Did you see the faces of the entire CNT coaches when Cheng Meng won?
2. If he decides to obey, what is the point of joining the CNT again? Just to clear the path for WCQ?

I think this reads too much into the situation, but I could very well be wrong. FZD's issues were less about the CNT as a whole and more about the desires of certain individuals to make money off the commercialization of table tennis in ways he didn't feel duly cared and compensated for. I don't think he has any issues playing for China and will do so under the right circumstances.
