Yeh Yi-Tian 1-3 YXX (-10, 8, -9, -5)
Does every mom get a temporary stat boost?

BTW, Yang Xiaoxin is back with a new status. First tournament since China Smash 2024.

Looks like she applied for a WR freeze between 2024 WK35 and WK42 when she was WR15 w/ 1310 pts.

https://www.ittf.com/wp-content/upl...Tennis-World-Ranking-Regulations-20250422.pdf
5. RANKING PROTECTION
5.1 Ranking protection is the right of players to keep, for a limited period, the ranking points that they had at
the moment they requested it
, which shall be used for entry and seeding at sanctioned events.
5.2 Ranking protection shall be applied to the Singles, Doubles Individuals and Mixed Doubles Individuals
competitions based on the corresponding ranking lists.
5.3 Ranking protection may be requested by the Member Association of a player if the player is injured, sick,
pregnant or under any other circumstances that prevent him/her from competing in table tennis events,
including sanctioned and non-sanctioned events, leagues or exhibitions, for a time between 6 and 18
months.
5.4 The ranking protection must be requested within six (6) months after the last sanctioned event where the
player competed, by filling out and sending the form at https://ittf.com/rankings to [email protected].
5.5 The ranking protection duration, that is, the number of events or period when the entry and seeding using
the protected ranking is applied, is determined by the duration of the player’s absence as:
• Between 6 and 12 months: 3 events or up to 6 months after the start date of the first sanctioned
event where the player competes after the absence, whichever occurs first.
• Between 12 and 18 months: 5 events or up to 9 months after the start date of the first sanctioned
event where the player competes after the absence, whichever occurs first.

5.6 In the case of a player who returns to competition after an absence and gets injured again having a
protected ranking status, a freeze of the status at that moment may be requested up to two times during
the protection. The player’s absence must be of at least 3 months, after which the player would continue
with the original protection and remaining months and events.

Uda 3-1 Rolland (8, -8, 7, 5)
G4 31 epic FH from Uda, 71, 74 TO for Uda, 94, 95, 115
Can Harimoto's FH reach the level of Uda's one at 3:1 of G4?

I didn't get to watch this, but Sora/Miwa squeak by Coton/Lutz

Since Manu Lebesson left the building, the only lefty male in France's team since Christophe Legout, team France has been desperatly trying "things", trials and errors mostly with Gauzy + Pavade, Alexis + Jianan Yuan (that one was terrible to say the least). Now this young pair has done not that bad considering they had to face the n°1 seed that is more experienced than them. They're the french nationals XD champions after all, so it seems France is now stopping this trials and errors scheme to bring something way more sturdy. 53-43 overhall, now they know the gap to fill.

Back in the days France had 3 lefties in the same men's team Gatien Chila Legout, the one that won '94 + '98 ETTTC plus took a match to the CNT in the WTTTC final in '97, now they are nowhere to be found. Still thinking about the Stephane Ouaiche case, very promising lefty team France just considered like sh*t because he never grew in the federal system imposed by the FFTT. Now he plays for Algeria. Quite a mess considering he was younger than Manu so he could have filled the gap in XD with Jianan.

Hayata/Ito (Q) 1-3 Qin Yuxuan/Zong Geman (4) (5, -11, -9, -8)
G3 50, 54 TO for JPN, 55, 65, 67, 77, 78 side edge for CHN, 98, 911
G4 01, confusion over who to serve/receive?, 02, 32, 34, 44, 46, 66, 68, 78, 710, 810, 811
As I pointed out roughly 3 years ago over at MyTT, this pair of Hayata/Ito has reached its limit and the end of the road. It is a waste of time to expect a different outcome from this "revival".

The prospect for Hayata/Ito is also not good after this match, with the same old problems still unresolved.

https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/thread-about-japanese-players.38013/post-544428
TV Tokyo is very sharp in "reading the air". Hayata is effectively a 過街老鼠 now, whether one likes it or not.

The only way out for her is to produce results, but pairing up with JCH at China Smash 2025 to only eliminate her teammate pair only made things worse...

France should carefully choose who should partner Leanna Hochart, the only French lefty that comes to mind

Qin Yuxuan has looked toothless against defense in her previous matches. I don't think she's gonna beat Hashimoto tomorrow, but taking 2 games will be a success story in its own right.
I also think Shi Xunyao has to pass this"high school exam", the tailwinds that's propelled up the rankings in recent months are losing steam already.

I actually explained to a lot of French coaches on my current trip that a lot of our lefty are actually fake ones and were taught to play left at a young age.

Still waiting for highlights but did Hirano play really well or Mittelham still struggling with her injuries. The scores seem... wowz.

Not surprising considering I’m sure a lot of other countries do this. Isnt LGY not a natural lefty?

Has always been like that. Mittelham did "better" this time.

The generation of 杨惠泽/Yang Huize and 祝启慧/Zhu Qihui is coming up and will probably replace them a few years down the road in preparation for Brisbane 2032.
