I'm currently using a DHS Hurricane Long 5 with Hurricane 8-80 (37°) on the backhand and Yinhe Big Dipper (39°) on the forehand. I’m looking for a slightly faster setup. My playstyle is backhand-dominant, focusing on blocks and counterattacks.

Previous Setups

Blades:
Stiga Clipper CR: Used for about 10 years. I liked its feel but wanted more power.
Yinhe Pro 01: Too fast and hard with insufficient flex and dwell.
DHS Hurricane Long 5: Feels between the Clipper CR and Pro 01, but I’d prefer something faster.

I’m looking for an inner carbon blade slightly faster than the HL5 but slower than the Pro 01. Current options: Sword VSEA, Yinhe Pro 05, Harimoto ALC, and Ovtcharov ALC.

Backhand Rubbers:
Donic Bluefire M2: Too fast and bouncy; prefer more control.
Dignics 09C: Excellent feel but too expensive; would like something slightly softer and slower.
Hurricane 8-80: Still deciding whether to upgrade the rubber or the blade for more speed.

Forehand Rubbers:

Yasaka Rising Dragon: Liked it, but it seems discontinued.
Donic Bluegrip C2: Too hard and slow.
Yinhe Big Dipper: Too hard and fast; want better control.
I’m currently considering Loki Rxton VII (39°) for my forehand.

Would appreciate recommendations for an upgraded setup.

If you're backhand dominant I would probably go for a standard headsize (157x150) blade.
Donic True Carbon inner should be slightly faster than HL5. It's basically an inner version of viscaria and also has pretty good price.
If you want the same composition as HL5 but slightly faster Innerforce ALC or maybe Xiom TMXi.

You could try the Yinhe - V14 Pro. It's not as fast as Pro-01, but not much behind.

FH: If Big Dipper 39deg is too fast, perhaps the 38deg could work? A bit slower and more control.
Otherwise as you suggest, Loki - Rxton VII is nice and not that fast. Yinhe - Jupiter III ASIA in 37 & 38 could also be in that area you look for. Or 729 - Battle III 38deg.

BH: I feel that H8-80 is quite heavy and a bit soft. Check out one of the faster Yinhe - Moon 12 Blue or Green in H-/H+. LOKI - Telson 100 is also up there in speed and spin. Yinhe - Apollo V is quite fast as well, so have this in consideration as well. 729 - Presto MAX Spin is a bit bouncy, but quite soft and nice for backhand and has good speed as well.

That's interesting. I thought Pro 01 was the slightly slower, slighty better feeling one. At least that's why I remember getting it and not the V14 Pro. Maybe I was misinformed :)
Yeah. I have a couple of each, and that's the feeling I have :)

Not to say that you are wrong because you stated the facts from Manufacturer's Data / Description, which support your opinion.

However, I am with @chinacurious here.

My friends have Yinhe V-14 Pro and Pro-01. At that time (before getting Pro-01), I was looking to find cheaper Viscaria. So I checked both blades and found that Yinhe V-14 Pro is thicker while both have the same composition and same outer-ply. So, logically V-14 Pro will be faster (before trying the blade). The manufacturer's data (above) also show that V-14 Pro is thicker than Pro-01.

So I tried both blades with same rubbers and truly I found that V-14 Pro is indeed faster than Pro-01 (not much though). The only flaw from my testing was I did not check the weight of both blades.

Based on that test, I chose Pro-01 because I was looking for slower blades between the two. However, I still prefer my Viscaria over Pro-01 (Viscaria has more feeling). But function wise, they are quite similar in my opinion.

Ok. Well I feel that the PRO-01 is faster than the V14 PRO, but the experience might have to do with the way you play and what type of rubbers you use etc, or just that the weight and density of blades differ to much....
