Whenever I hit my FH on the FH, I move in such a way that I sort of get stuck on the FH side, having to use my BH

So I guess this is a two-part question

  1. What footwork is generally used to hit FH shots on the FH side (doesn't have to be super wide), while still maintaining general balance? Is it a single step movement or cross-step?

  2. I have used Falkeberg and occasionally do 2 point FH drills. What are some other drills that would help improve footwork moving to hit FH on the FH side? Or do I just spam these two in training?

let me get it straight.
BH, BH then FH but instead of FH you use BH. Is this right?

OK,
1. Does not sound like a footwork issue. Because you can move to the FH side and use a BH to return the ball. Did I get it right?
2. Sounds more like a grip issue. Perhaps too BH dominant grip and your grip is too tense.
3. In my club a lot of noobs have this issue. They are unable to change BH to FH to BH grip. They are too tense and grip the bat with a vice grip.

Regardless of cross step or normal footwork without crossing the legs you end with your weight solidly on the left foot after the FH loop. Then, you immediately push with your right foot to power your chasse step back to the middle so you dont get stuck in the FH corner, and then you can do either BH or FH from that middle position.

Im toying with the idea of using a rear crossover back (right leg going past left leg) to get back to the middle after the crossover to a very wide FH. This seems to help cheat a bit by increasing the distance travelled while keeping the no of steps the same.

Or do I just spam these two in training?
you probably have technique issues, and spamming bad habits won't solve the problem

if you are getting stuck, then there are flaws in the footwork, and I suggest someone needs to address it properly.

Make a video analysis of yourselfe and look at where your weight is and how you transfer it.
Also it´s a hard movement, if you hit your forhand correctly, yoou shift your weight freom your right to your left foot, if your weight is on the left foot it´s harder to move to your left.

you can also try to do far backhand middle far forehand as drill, either with backhand in backhand or everthing forehand.

But training with the wrong technique will only train you to do the wrong technique so a analysing you self first and finding the error if there is one should be your first priority

What can be some possible flaws in the footwork? If there were flaws, wouldn't he notice those when doing the 66% or falkenberg drills?

there are many possibilities, which includes how he moves right to the wide FH, the landing, and also how he moves back.

he noticed this: "I move in such a way that I sort of get stuck on the FH side,"
so, he is 100% stuck on the FH side, so it is a clear flaw.

correct footwork, you can get back and continue FH.

this is why one needs a coach, as a good coach can pinpoint the problem and focus on correction, and not just continuing training in the bad habit and making the bad habit unfixable
