Does anyone else have the live event on youtube from this morning blocked due to some copyright issue from some "SME".? according to youtube.
I cant finish watching the games from the live event now.
It did say its blocked in MY country. So maybe you guys can watch it. I cant.
First time this ever happened to me. and all the other previous live events are no problem.
Im assuming they played some copyrighted song? If thats the case it should be blocked for many countries I guess?
Yup, same here in UK. https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/fo...er-london-private-recording.38272/post-549149

SME is Sony Music Entertainment. I guess WTT did not license the music they play between games. This would actually be hilarious, if it wasn't for the effect on tt fans worldwide.

so annoying. I was just getting ready to see the full match with Simon and Aruna.
Lets hope they dont repeat that with tonights(current) live event too.
Well, SME will continue to block livestreams unless either WTT stops playing pop music between games or WTT ponies up some money to SME.

His Butterfly profile says Zyre on both sides. He probably didn't care.
Nobody at their level flips their racket for fun even if both sides were the same.

Maybe Butterfly is slow to update the profile pages when pros give up on Z03 because it's bad PR for their new flagship. Or maybe there is simply a lag in communication from the players all the way to the folks maintaining the website. Another example: Adriana Diaz who has also given up on Z03, despite what Butterfly's profile says.

Use Butterfly Japan for that. ButterflyOnline/Bowmar Sports is only a distributor.

Franziska must've switched back only very recently.

Diaz was back to double D05 on 9/17.

Ah, at least you showed the evidence of the 09c, now please show the black side. The fact that he was a Dignics 05 user on both sides (if his profile history is correct) and then he goes Zyre03 and D00c is a bit of a red flag. But in the end, he probably needed his opening flick and pushes to be more consistent. But it is hardly something just "Ma Long" did, it is something all players do to some degree all the time when they are unhappy with something on the specific day, Timo has done it a lot. But when it is the same rubber on both sides, that is usually a glue job or just for fun, And yes, some do it just for fun (and by fun, I mean the reason is not grounded in anything other than personal feeling, whether it is objectively justifiable is besides the point).

Butterfly Global tends to mirror Butterfly Japan as well.

Kaufmann will shoot up by 9-10 places with her victory over Batra and get close to the top 40 if she beats Han Ying. She'll be just outside the top 30 if she reaches semifinals. May be a long shot but I also feel that Kaufmann is one of those players who can perform well when the occasion rises (as Shan Xiaona as attested to).

I want to see Kaufmann vs Ito. Go go!

SXN said back in August that Kaufmann would rank up quickly if she comes out to play more often.

The last time I read Kaufmann was still not a full-time player.

https://world-tt.com/blog/news/archives/234036

(At the World Youth Championships in November, Annette Kaufmann of Germany became the first non-Asian champion. At the Paris Olympics in August 2024, she defeated Miwa Harimoto (Kinoshita Group), then ranked 7th in the world, in the team competition, attracting attention in Japan as well.

Her background is gradually becoming clearer. Her parents are from Kazakhstan, and her father, Andrei, was a professional ice hockey player, while her mother, Anna, was a professional alpine skier. They come from a sporting family.

Though both parents were winter sports experts, their two daughters (older sister Alexandra and younger sister Annette) rarely had the opportunity to ski after moving to southern Germany.

Instead, the sisters were interested in table tennis, and Annette began playing at the age of four. Her older sister, Alexandra, is four years older and a former player on the German junior team. She is currently a teacher training student majoring in history and sports. Last year, she became the youngest person to complete the A-License coaching training course.

Annette started playing table tennis because of her older sister, but she excelled academically as well. In Germany, elementary school lasts four years, followed by a choice of a five-year Haubschule, a seven-year Realschule, or a nine-year Gymnasium. Students aiming to go on to university attend Gymnasium, but there is no entrance exam system like in Japan; instead, their academic performance determines their university of choice.

As her mother said, "Annette wanted to improve in everything and always got A's in school," and even though she often missed school due to table tennis trips, she maintained her A-level grades. According to the Baden-Württemberg Sports Association website, "Table tennis was her first goal (Plan A), and her second goal (Plan B) was to become a criminal investigator in the police department, where she was interested in criminology and forensic science." It appears she also had university studies in mind.

However, in Germany, it is considered extremely difficult to balance university studies with professional athlete careers. Annette has now chosen to pursue her plan A as a table tennis player. This may be something she shares in common with the intelligent Miwa Harimoto, who is her same age.

For a long time, no European player could compete with Asian players, especially those from China, but a new star has emerged from Germany and is shining brightly.

Kaufmann is going to be tbe best player in Europe. The question is when. In fact if the expert had said he considered Kaufmann better than Winter, I would not have seriously argued. But it still leaves one spot open for Mittelham or Winter.

Sora done with AJH in 16 mins. And he was so lively throughout! I wonder if the commentator may have been on to something calling him a morning person. It's either this or methamphetamine ;)
His opponent didn"t use AI. That was a huge difference.
