Dan Que has iron nerve. The come back from 1:9 in 4th game is just textbook.
Plase, make some effort, I know you're american but it doesn't allow you to butcher names like that. You can't pronounce it correctly IRL, ok... but please before WRITING any "rest of the world" name there is Google to help you. Don't be that lazy.

Ito is demonstrating if you hit hard enough, you can flat-hit under spin ball and power through the net with devastating effect, thanks partially by large ball size and new material.
Reminds me of an argument I had with a couple of teammates (both CTTA certified coaches) about a decade ago... I was playing a chopper at practice and kept trying to flat-hit, but the backspin was just too strong. So they called me a moron, saying you can't flat-hit a ball with that much backspin. I said the laws of physics said otherwise and the issue was just my shitty timing and stroke power.

Ironically, one of those guys was/is an absolute master against long pips. It's like a joke to him.

Criticism is accepted. My laziness is the culprit. The name should be Dan Qiu. Being an American is not the excuse.

Smashing backspin requires timing, power and racket angle. Ito is a master of that.
Physically, if the racket hits the ball so fast, the dwell time on the rubber is so brief, the spin effect on the ball is greatly reduced.

In contrast to the women's Asian dominant power distribution, men's power map is quite even. Two from Asia and two from Europe in the semi. The semi two matches are Asia vs. Europe, the perfect pairings.
Let's see if the parity will be carried to the final.

Way too many empty seats for the Dima match.

Maybe the event would be better off moved to Dusseldorf or something.
It was pretty full. It's the weekend after all and I'm not sure if it goes for other associations, but district championships are happening here. I won't go to Frankfurt anymore on the weekend if they keep colliding. Once you leave your seat during breaks to do something it will take a while to get back. The pathing and layout in the venue is horrendous. Also, and I don't get it, a ton of people just go play on the few tables, get their spin measured or shop merch during matches. The break between sessions was 3,5h. You have plenty to of time to do all that during it.

Ito: The saviour, the messiah of us flat-hitter. If there is anyone who tells G-man you need to spin more, I’ll show them Ito vs Han Ying game and do the walk-off.

For forum members who prefer flat-hit:
Yeah, look at Mima Ito and see how she smashed HY with devastating power consistently in the quarter final!

For forum members who advocate top spin on every stroke:
Yeah, look at Mima Ito and see how she smashed and missed here, there and everywhere against Hayata's top spin in the semi.
