The prototype he is using has green carbon fiber. I only know Andro, Stiga, and Thibar blades that have it…not sure about the rest

the #80 sponge is not strong enough if you do BH counter attack. I have played a lot of DHS rubbers and have to admit most of their sponges are.. mediocre, only some versions of H3 sponges are good (Recently they have this 710s sponge which is really, really good, but hard to buy. I am using the H8 version of this sponge, which is called H8-20, I can say it has almost same shot quality as D09c on BH)
The decisive factor is whether signing the athlete will lead to more sales and whether the cost of signing him is worth it in extra sales. Hugo would give them a stranglehold on marketing in South America and more broadly Pan America. When we look at it, they have Fan Zhendong, Harimoto, Qiu Dang, Ovtcharo, Boll, Lin Shidong, Kallberg, Assar, Jha. There is an obvious gap in Latin America. Butterfly has squeezed lower ranked players on contracts which is why many of them go with Tibhar, Donic, Andro etc. Because thoae brands pay them more than Butterfly even if you think Butterfly produces better equipment. So players need to balance equipment quality with being paid enough.
Hugo would fill a major gap and give them the biggest name in a different market. And his ranking is important because it makes him the best possible player in that market similar to other players Butterfly has recently used.
I really hope DHS gets him.
8-80 isnt fast enough 🥲
D09c has better feeling with or without boost.
C55 is faster than D09c, faster than 8-80.
Also three different sponge feelings,
Literally german, japanese, chinese sponge 🥴
In the CNT if you're one of the main players you get it for free, if you're not the main players you can buy one from DHS. I suspect Korean players have to pay DHS for their customized bladesI do wonder how do those Koreans get their DHS blades and rubbers from if they are sponsored by other table tennis brands. Would DHS be reluctant to give them player version blades and rubbers at a cost or do these players have to buy from third parties.
I believe WYD and CXT are using a different rubber on their BH I think it’s either D05 or D09c. Are these players sponsored by DHS cause I would expect DHS to not allow them to use a different brand of rubber for BH?In the CNT if you're one of the main players you get it for free
Don't be. It's still an amazing blade and i would buy it again in a heartbeat. I wish Hugo goes to Butterfly and Butterfly releases their version of the HAL.
Isn’t the durability of C55 bad though?I've played C55 for a few months. It's really one of a kind. The feeling is quite unique. In short game, it's less bouncy than 09C, good control. When you're attacking away from table, it is powerful if not more than 09C.
I think you can look at Xiang Peng on this matter. He's sponsored by DHS, one of the main players in the new CNT, even having his own "CNT Star" version of Hurricane 3, and he is currently using Xiom C55 on his BH, so I believe they are not locked to DHS BH. I have no info on whether WYD and CXT is DHS sponsored, but I have seen quite a few articles on CXT using the special 968-8, which has Koto as the top veneer. You might be able to come to your own conclusions with this.I believe WYD and CXT are using a different rubber on their BH I think it’s either D05 or D09c. A Hugo-Bruna Andro campaign would open up ridiculous avenues for TT marketing... wondering whether Andro can afford it...This post states that Calderano received an offer from a producer but turned it down because he was already in contact with someone else.
I guess He will go with Andro
Wata is very close to Marcos Yamada who is a long-time Butterfly representative in Brazil. I would guess BTY was the one that offered and got turned down. This post states that Calderano received an offer from a producer but turned it down because he was already in contact with someone else.

W968-8 is a thicker core w968 kind of like how HL5x is compared to HL5. It doesn't have koto outer.I think you can look at Xiang Peng on this matter. My guess is he’s still with xiom. He’s just not using Hal anymore and instead I assume he’s trying out new blades/prototypes
From the translate feature on the site it mentioned that a famous manufacturer approached but got turned down. Who do you reckon the company got turned down is; DHS or Butterfly. This post states that Calderano received an offer from a producer but turned it down because he was already in contact with someone else.

I'm no blade expert but it looks pretty identical to Andro Synteliac VCIFrom the translate feature on the site it mentioned that a famous manufacturer approached but got turned down. Who do you reckon the company got turned down is; DHS or Butterfly.
All of us thought it could be DHS or Butterfly but Andro is surely another option as well. I do think the blade that Hugo is using looks more like Andro than DHS from the pics due to the handle. Will this be the first table tennis couple to both be with the same sponsored brand Andro.
It looks like that blade too cause I remember KCJ using it before he left Andro abruptlyI'm no blade expert but it looks pretty identical to Andro Synteliac VCI
