FZD not playing the Xinjiang leg of the CTTSL.

I was not expecting his CTTSL team to let him skip the matches for TTBL. I thought his deal was that he had to play all the CTTSL matches but is free to play in TTBL when it does not clash.

Its not about match clashing, but rather TTBL does not allow for double league participation, so FZD is not allowed to play in the same half season in Germany and any other countries league.

When the news broke, I initially thought maybe he will finish CTTSL which is 2025-2026 1st half and will only play Germany in the 2nd half season - when I got the news of FZD I was actually dining with a couple of TTBL players, including Kanak's German coach in India then and some of them thought FZD would only play Champions League (which has no problem with 2 leagues).

But I think FZD is moving on with his life, and his life is set as number 1 priority, and the previous commitments are now secondary. Life in CNT is that the team always comes first.
Of course he would have communicated with the Chinese club early enough before the signing and planning.

So I think this is setting a great precedent, as LGY's participation last season was marked with his German club unhappy with CTTA, as CNT did not release LGY due to CNT closed training scheduling, however, LGY was part of the CNT for WTTC.

the moment he plays on Sunday, he won't be allowed to play CTTSL, or else he will be suspended in TTBL

Yeah, I watched that match. He'd actually begun complaining about it after his opponents first serves in their second game. And he had a valid argument when you look at his opponents' consistent release and contact points.

Crazy that he was called immediately upon his imitation - doesn't smell quite right.

I read somewhere, no idea if it's true, that he left after the match.

China Table Tennis Super League-2025 (赛季中国乒乓球俱乐部超级联赛) is contested in a two-stage format: a regular season followed by a TOP-4 Finals played in a playoff format.
CTTSL-2025 (Chinese Super League) features men’s and women’s team competitions. The tournament includes 9 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams, with the season running from June to December. The regular season consists of three stages, to be held sequentially in Xiong’an (Hebei Province), Xiamen (Fujian Province), and Ürümqi (Xinjiang). The top four teams advancing to the playoffs will then compete for the title from December 26 to 28, 2025, at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center (Jiangsu Province), starting with the semifinals and culminating in the finals.
Matches are played under the Paris Olympic Games team format, with no more than one foreign player not registered with the Chinese Table Tennis Association permitted to compete in each team match.

Participants and Schedule

The 2025 season of the Chinese Table Tennis Club Super League features men’s and women’s team competitions. The tournament includes 9 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams, with the season running from June to December. The regular championship consists of three stages, which will be held successively in Xiong’an (Hebei Province), Xiamen (Fujian Province), and Urumqi (Xinjiang). The final tournament will take place on December 26–28 at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center (Jiangsu Province). There, the top four teams that qualify for the playoffs will compete directly for the title in the semifinals and finals.
On June 9, 2025, the Super League season officially kicked off with first-stage matches held at the Xiong’an Sports Center (Hebei), featuring 15 teams. The second stage of the regular season took place from July 25–28 at the Phoenix Sports Hall of the Xiamen Olympic Sports Center, with Fan Zhendong confirming his participation. The third stage was held from August 29 to September 1 at the Urumqi Olympic Sports Center indoor arena.

Playing System

In the current season of the Chinese Table Tennis Super League, men’s and women’s team competitions are held. The match format follows the Paris Olympic Games team system: each team match consists of up to five individual matches and is played to three team victories.
Each individual match is played as best-of-five games, with three games required to win, and each game played to 11 points.
The order of play in a team match is as follows:

1. B/C — Y/Z (doubles)
2. A — X
3. C — Z
4. A — Y
5. B — X

In each team match, a club is allowed to field no more than one player who is not registered with the Chinese Table Tennis Association. During the first three stages of the regular season, teams compete in a double round-robin format. The four clubs finishing at the top of the regular-season standings qualify for the final playoff stage. In the finals, the clubs ranked 1st and 2nd in the regular season select their semifinal opponents from the teams ranked 3rd or 4th. The winners of the semifinals advance to the championship match. The losing semifinalists do not play a third-place match, and their final rankings are determined by their regular-season positions. Clubs that fail to qualify for the final stage are ranked according to the final regular-season standings.
