He was using warrior for a bit tho. Ultimately I guess it doesn't matter, he gets special versions anyway, not the same as commercial ver
He doesn’t get special versions 🤣 I don’t know why so many people assume that all pros have special or different blades. I can tell you right now there is no Joola sponsored player who is using a special blade, they are absolutely all commercial. Even someone like Pitchford is using the same ZQH blade that you could get from a shelf. I would know since I’m the one who gives them the equipment 🤭

Because literally every TT manufacturer has them. Ma Long uses the special HL5 (W968) from DHS, all butterfly players have special versions of their blade (2 codes version), Xiom players (Hugo, Jeoung Young-sik, An Jae-hyun before) has special versions with a picture of them on the bottom of the handle. CNT has a special version of D09c that's extra hard, Victas makes a 55/52.5 deg version of the V15e. You're gonna have a hard time convincing people Joola doesn't have any special blades/rubbers for players with how prevalent special versions are in the TT market

You can choose to believe me or not, I’m not going to waste my time trying to convince anyone 🤣 if you don’t believe me that’s fine, I’m just telling you there are no special blades - take it with a grain of salt.

Also for Xiom’s ‘pro’ blades usually they are just heavier. An Jaehyun’s blade was 94 grams from Xiom.

Not true. In fact most of them don't. Only the top top players.
Phrased it badly, let me rectify: All players who have their signature blades plays a special version. Some players who doesn't have a signature blade could be using either a special custom blade or a well-picked comm

You guys I'm really enjoying my Nittaku Acoustic (all wood version) with plain old R7 on both sides and I almost settled on using that for this year but know you tempt me with trying this new blade out :D EJ in me is kicking in haha

Last year I used Sanwei Fextra 7 and I like the blade but found the handle quality to not be great (I like the handle shape and thickness its just the quality on it), so I'm trying out a few blades and one of them is acoustic. I love it but I do feel like its tad slower then my fextra and I'm just a litttttle bit missing those 2 extra plies. So this might fit the bill.

I do wonder what the difference is between this blade vs joola proline aw7 is?
BTW, the Xylo5 is pretty good as well lol.

It's not religion and Matt is speaking specifically for Joola. But there are obvious reasons why it is pretty ridiculous to claim that anyone is using a custom blade that is special because it is so high quality it is not commercially available. In reality, it is easier to make money off things you can sell lol. What the pros usually fo is just select a blade from what is available or participate in the design of a blade and even then, still select from the results. Wood is a living thing. Handle design is probably the single most customizable aspect of blade design and some pros just get there with sand paper.

I don't understand your notion on claiming it "ridiculous" to acknowledge pros use special gear. Just because it is not commercially available does not mean it doesn't exist. You are right, companies make the most money on the amateur market, and that is why pros get special equipment that is not the same as the commercial ones: companies have to consider if a piece of equipment is suitable for amateur players with varying levels of skill, so in order to maximize profitability they tend to tune it down to accommodate normal players to sell the most gear towards consumers. Even Timo said so himself in one of his videos on gluing rubbers: he doesn't boost them, but he has butterfly factory tune it to his liking, proving the existence of special pro gear. It would be ridiculous for pros to not use special gear to get every advantage in a match.

IIRC, there is a video of Boll gluing his blades with that format of serial number...

I think Butterfly has a different/separate "assembly line" for custom blades, like those you could order in the past, handled by 千原悟/CHIHARA Satoru. There was a video about him and his daily routine handling custom orders.

Stamps don't proof anything. The only proof can be Pro himself or manufacturer representative tells us is is special versions very different then commercial. Show "special" stamp its like catolic charch show you bone that was belong to Jesus or some saint person was living 1000 years ago. Its your choice believe its was saint bone or not

Ok bro lol
Saying it's a trust/faith/perspective thing and then debate me with your own opinion and try to convert me with it is crazy work
