Gauzy: 一不離二,二不離三/good bad things come in threes...

MS R32
Gauzy (WR17) 2-3 Thakkar (WR34) (-8, 7, 9, -7, -8)

Not looking good for WTTC 2026 given Felix's record against the KNT in 2025 and now Alexis who showed a sign of recovery at ETTC 2025. JWJ even contemplated about just playing leagues only after Paris 2024...

drama moment of course.... how can WTT not have TTR at Champions events like this?
Looking at the point of contention, the rule is pretty clear that unintentional double hits are legal, so not sure what Lind was going on about and why the umpire gave a let. She should just have told Anders the rule and given the point to Chen.

I actually believe there were two racket hits and not continuous, but very fast. In .25x the momentum of ball is stopped with first racket touch (racket moving back) and sent forward with second (racket moving forward).

"Very fast", "not continuous...", the rule as I understand it is about uninentional double hits being legal. if it was a case of hitting the hand and the shirt or head or something, I would understand Anders. But Chen clearly had an unintentional double hit. The whole point of the rule change was exactly to stop debates over issues like this and just play the point. Unintentional double hit increases the dwell just as happened here. And the hand up to the wrist is part of the racket and contact with the skin can increase dwell as well.

So at the risk of sounding cantankerous, Anders should have taken a major chill pill and just played it out for real.

Thakkar made it to a next round again for a Champions event. Thats 2 times now. Unfortunately last time he had to WO. Going to be a good match against Truls.
