Why is the commentator incorrectly stating JWJ won the last time he played against Moregard lol
"...won (the race to) match (point)..."

JWJ has match "game" first this time, unlike the last.

MS QF
Moregard (4) 1-4 JWJ (-5, -7, 9, -3, -10)
G4 08, 38, 311
G5 41, 42, 52, 53, 83, 84, 94, 98 big net for Moregard and JWJ saved it but still lost the point, 108, 1012

True to what Harimoto said, Moregard is inconsistent.

Other than the one above, the other 3 QFs were rematches of WTTC 2025.

(KK vs Bin, Han Ying vs Manyu, Wuji vs Little Mo – three out of the four matches were revenge matches of WTTC Doha)

Maybe it was a downplay after all...
No, I wasn't basing that comment on just this match, more about the recent months in general, but that match made the thought pop back into my head. But yes, great run for Jang this tournament.

Another solid win for Miyu Nagasaki. With the golden generation struggling, it'll be interesting to see if Miyu can grab an Olympic spot. Good start to 2026 for her.
A rare (in)sight.
Although Mima and Hina are struggling, they are still the 2nd and 3rd highest ranked Japanese women. We'll have to wait and see how Miu performs at SC Doha, but she did not look good against Sakura Yokoi yesterday. It is contingent upon the challengers to overtake Mima/Hina which won't be so easy. Poor Miyu couldn't generate any offense against Kuai Man.

[Edit] ... I forgot it's a bo7 from QF

It's not just ranking, the problem with Miyu is over-rleliance on quality and not enough thought on frustrating the opponent. You shouldn't have to go down 0-3 to realize that your opponent is dialed into your every move ans you need new ball qualities and placements to compete. Just hitting the ball hard is not good enough, it works against many teams but the CNT have players who hit the ball with more quality, you need to develop more weapons.

WS QF
Nagasaki 1-4 KM (2) (-7, -3, -3, 8, -9)
Given more chances, Nagasaki and Kihara should be able to do similarly as the golden generation.

You make it sound like chances are given not earned.

Tomo always seems to lose against Felix. I can’t remember the last time Tomo beat Felix.
Literally their last match. Your memory is not wrong in general.but that is why their last match was so memorable.
