LJH even worst then Ovtcharov now with his screaming
Another noteworthy development at LJH is that now that TTR is in place, which checks whether the serve is indeed behind the table, LJH has apparently suddenly adapted completely. After years of starting his serve from beside the table and serving beyond the baseline, from where he could improve his third ball, his serve position was now always behind the table, with the exception of the corner of the table.
What TTR can do for a player! Suddenly, they can serve correctly!

I think it's time that someone during a match would call the umpire against opponent's disturbing noises.
I know it's difficult to decide if it's grunting or noise/voice....but something has to be done before whole thing turns into a stereo madness.

Talking serious, it could really become a "tactic", as the game is so fast that I can hear the opponent's noise right when I'm performing my shot. And that's unfair.

I got one also against the annoying habit of hand wiping....but I keep it for another thread :)
It was something I noticed when watching him play An and also in XD. But TT has wasted a lot of time addressing these things and I am not sure where Asia (China) stands on it, choing like Harimoto could have been killed a long time ago if anyone cared.

Chooing or scream AFTER every point is something I personally don't like, but it doesn't affect the game directly; it could be a psychological problem for someone, but it is an offence hard to define....also staring could affect player's game as is intimidating for someone.
I don't blame rules for not regulating a subjective topic like that.

But something that directly affect my shot as I hear a disturbing noise while I'm looping....well, that should be regulated in my opinion, as it's an objective damage.

Even if fans (and not your opponent) would do it every shot of yours, would you consider it fair?

I don't disagree with you but some of these things come down to norms and conventions within the sport. In basketball for example, they deal with crowd cheering and trash talking all the time. Granted, one may argue that sound is a bigger deal in table tennis for making and assessing a shot. But I think the biggest issue is simply that one is not used to such behavior in most opponents and that if more opponents make noise during the match and it becomes commonplace, most of us will adapt somehow. These things are all ultimately subjective, the fact that it affects or doesn't affect someone is often cultural. I get affected by tracking let balls in my head during events, some people refuse to accept it when I complain about them after the point saying I should have stopped the point. But there is a reason why top sports have umpires for such things.

Even in tennis, people used to complain about "shriekers" like Azarenka and Sharapova. But some players like Serena were grunters and even in the top men, Novak and Rafa were grunters. Now, they only complain if the noise is long enough that it affects the opponent's shot or something interferes with the opponent's shot. But to be honest, they could also get rid of that rule if they wanted to. My point though is that in tennis, because of money and because they are active, they discuss and adjust to these things quickly. Same in basketball. Table tennis, not so much.

Jha has no excuse, he was on a TTR court.

well that's about it for Togami, props to him for fighting his way back in both game 1 and 2, but basically he still has no advantage in the first 5 touches, that's a no no for an asian player

The sad thing is that the Japanese men (other than Matsushima and maybe Shinozuka) seem so averse to 09c despite this issue.

Kanak got spanked by a younger, faster and more aggressive version. Kanak’s effort to play safe and placement backfired on him as he tried to block Sora down

that BH counter against Kanak loop at the end of game 2 summed up the match in my opinion

the level of top 10 is still a notch above the rest

Matsushima is younger and more aggressive, but I don't think he is faster nor a version. He is much more powerful and that is the problem that Kanak still has no true solution for yet and until he does, I don't see a path for him to get closer to the very top unless he can get into an environment with pne of these players.
