The Winter match is the difference between playing for Puerto Rico and playing for powerhouses like Germany, China etc. You can have good players but if you dont have a tactical team to make sure you are prepared for the opponents, you have to depend on talent more than deep preparation.

The problem for Anders is that he has expressed public respect for Wang’s playing level as one of the highest ever if not the highest ever. So he will always have impostor syndrome when he is up on Wang. That 7-2 timeout spoke more to his mindset and must have given WCQ a boost. In the final game, WYD served every ball fast and deep into Mima's SP BH eliciting a relatively weak bh counter giving WYD the immediate advantage. She was also able to take advantage of Mima's inconsistent FH.
