Lin's successful banana flips could be counted on one hand, especially in the first two sets. Almost everything from his backhand went over the table or into the net, and that was already during the second rally. So this was not a credit to Wang, but unusually poor play from Lin. After that, Lin's backhand improved slightly, but he was outplayed by WCQ in just about every aspect of the game.
At the level of LYJ, WCQ, LSD, TH, HC etc, there's no such a thing as unusually poor play, especially when talking about a player's coup de grace.
That G4 actually highlights the biggest weakness of combination styles that is best described by the Chinese wisdom- 力敵不如智取/outsmarting rather than outfighting.
