Hey guys! In this video we took on the world’s best anti spin player, Sabine Winter!

The German star recently won bronze at the ITTF World Cup and has also picked up some huge wins over former world number 1 Zhu Yuling, Chen Xingtong, and Shin Yubin.

So in this challenge, it’s time to find out which one of the TTD Team can win the most points against Sabine.

One game is tough, but I think the Dane might have a chance in a real match.
I could see him adapting but I think it would take him 3 - 5 matches to get close and I don't see him winning any of them. She is faster than he is and it is significant.

VENGEANCE IS MINE

"Vengeance is mine"
saith the Lord.

Sun Yingsha did score 4:0 playing Sabine recently. Heh, we all glad for Dane -- full avengement was exacted on his behalf just now. 💓

I think he's got great feel and would adapt a lot faster than that. He was nervous and played a bad game, but even so you can see him already starting to improve in the second half. Sabine's the better rally player, but I think Dane might have the edge in serve and receive. I'd make Sabine the clear favorite in a real match, but not overwhelming.

Maybe TTD will find a way to make this happen lol.

Adaptation goes both ways. If Sabine played Dane for $$$, she would show pro level adaption. Dane is a very high level amateur, but has no chance to beat a top 10 player playing for real.

For comparison, when Gao Jun was WR 30-40, she played in many open events against men and was rated about 2700 usatt.

We are bored with Chinese style and Euro style. We want a third style; Seemiller aka American style.

Sabine, over to you....

So I guess it’s a secret what anti rubber she’s playing?
I think that it’s more just off brand!

Everything in the hall is Andro branded, but Sabines anti is not an Andro product… most people seem to think it’s Dr Neubauer ABS pro 3, but as Andro are paying for everything they probably ask Sabine not to talk too loudly about it🤣

A tip of the cap here.

I know she calls it the UFO shot but it should be stated that Dan Seemiller was doing this shot before she was born. Is she good at it and uses it well? Yeah. She's a pro. But calling it her own thing like she pioneered the shot? Eh, I don't know about that. I don't think he actually named his particular stroke but just thought I'd point out it's not exactly a new thing. And maybe she's just naming it and not pretending she invented it. That's fine. I just thought any younger people should know about Dan Seemiller (who the grip is named after) was well onto this tactic a long time ago.

____

As for the debate if the Dane could beat her. Folks, just stop. She's a professional. He's not. Sure if they played a million times he'd eventually luck into one & catch a game. But lets not pretend he's remotely (and he's really good) close to her level. It's a significant difference.

I think Dane is/was on a junior national team though I could be wrong. It's not that straightforward sometimes. Moreover, the ability of anti slow down the game has pros and cons, I just think the strength of her forehand overrides that but you saw Dane push Zhang Jike messing around. But I have seen lots of players who are weaker by rating beat players who use pips/anti on one side of their racket simply because they knew how to play that side well enough that their opponents didn't have their usual advantage of hesitation. All @DrEvil is saying is that based on how the game was going, Dane was clearly adapting to a point where it might have gotten much closer than the initial lead made out had it played out for a longer period like a best of 5.

My first coach Enoch Green inspired by Seemiller was doing this as well with LP on backhand and he had a ferocious shot in practice (he didn't play many tournaments as he aged). But usually, the person who gets the credit is the person who uses the shot most prominently on the international stage. There were RPBs before Liu Guoliang ever played them.

She is clearly not going full speed either. And a lot of placements are done to give rallys for the audience.

No one goes full speed against new and weaker opponents when trying to be consistent. Even when playing their best. As a famous internet coach said, Fan Zhendong opens his paddle to play banana flick because Ma Long's push is heavy. Most pros will play a control game vs amateurs because they need to figure out the amateur's quality. Playing full speed can hurt them against lower level opposition so I don't find that argument as strong as others might.
