Hey everyone. I’m a swedish player but for reference according to chat gpt my rating would be 2100-2300. Anyways..

I need new blade and rubbers..

I do like:
Ma lin extra offensive
Timo boll alc (but too fast for playing close to table)
Stiga carbon cybershape (but i dont actually like cybershape)

I dont like:
Stiga clipper wood
Stiga clipper wood
Stiga clipper wood

I know this might sound counterintuitive or you might wonder why i dont play with what i already like. I dont like cybershape even though i like the racket. And i think i need something faster than ma lin. And perhaps slower than timo boll alc.

What do you guys think about anders lind hexa carbon?

I like to play far from the table - its what i do best. I also like to backhand smash and push etc a lot. Not necesarily only about looping. More a allround good feeling kind of player.

If Timo boll alc too fast you are not 2100-2300 USATT IMHO
I play with it currently. Its no problem but it’s quite bouncy when i want to play short short. And I like a bit more control in my game. So therefore I would like something a bit in between. Many people use too fast blades for their skill. Dont underestimate the skill of many balls on the table.

You could try using a stickier rubber to see if it helps with your short game. If you would like to stick with Hybrid rubbers, then you can try Victas Triple Double Extra since it's very tacky and plays like a boosted Chinese rubber (but boosting it will help more since the sponge is very hard), otherwise, Chinese rubbers like Hurricane or 729/Friendship Battle 2 are good options as well. If you rather stay with the DNA Hybrid H, then you could try getting the XH version or possibly ask your training partner or coach to give you short balls to help adjust more with the blade so you don't have adjust to a brand new blade. Hope this helps!

I know someone at your level uses the Timo boll spirit blade as its meant to be better at the short game than the Timo boll alc. What about FZD alc. ? Also I second that you could try Battle 2 rubbers.

what rubber are you using?

i have a TMB 96g and it is way faster than a 86g from my friend (same rubbers)

i am around 2250 usatt and i think if TMB is fast you can tone down to FZD? Anders Lind is quite soft imo

the ALC blades typically are known for their sharp feeling and it is better to play close table. if you play best far away, the inner type is a bit better as their arc is more pronounced

According to The Internet, the Cybershape Carbon is koto-ayous-carbon-kiri core; if you like the blade but not the shape, you could look for something similar. A quick search turns up the Donic Original True Carbon Inner, although the thickness is quite different. The DHS N301 is closer but has an ayous core instead of kiri.

I agree that changing the rubber might do better to solve your issue with the TBALC though.

There is Stiga Carbon. Its same blade as Cybershape with regular shape

People in your category wanting this tend to like inner carbon blades. Try a few out... chances are many players around you use one of them.

I use Stiga DNA Hybrid Hard.

Sounds like you tried Anders Linds blade? Could you explain it a little bit more? Soft how?

the contact is soft, almost paper-like. it requires a lot of power... overall i don't like it as much as the dynamic of FZD or outer ALC in general.

the combination of wood and rubber is a myth, mostly depends on the hand feel and the level of the player. i have a Clipper 99g and the feel is exceptional but my friends tried and they all gave mixed feedback so not sure if i could answer your questions ;0
