China hasn't lost a team match in 26 years right? This would be a pretty goofy match to end that streak, as sk would still end 3rd in the group even if they beat china. Whole playing system is pretty stupid
Yup, since they lost to Sweden in 2000 even with having legends on the team and strong up and comers. This team just has one star, one headed for retirement, and three weak up and comers.

Not really, if it was a more consequential match, China would have played a better team. We can't always base things on the results of what happened.

1.5 deep I would say. Wang Chuqin can't afford any mistakes, Lin Shidong is quite beatable by quite many players, numbers 3 to 5 are just not worth top 10. I don't think I have seen such a vulnerable China since they lost their last world championship, am I right in remembering it in the year 2000 against Sweden?
I just remember the late '00 early '10s when China's number 5 was the like of Chen Qi who would just steam roll over pretty much everyone he encountered except maybe Boll and Samsonov.
You called it.

Well China, it was a great era watching you dominate the sport for the last 26 years. But sometimes, all good things must come to end.
They would have remained undefeated with FZD and Wen Ruibo on the squad.

Heck, even if Ma Long played instead of FZD, they would have remained unbeatable.

China hasn't lost a single match in 26 years. This being the streak ender is definitely anticlimactic.

Beating China should be a crowning achievement for any team, these pointless group matches are just a buzzkill
