Harimoto Innerforce ALC vs Dimitrij Ovtcharov ALC for my new set up?

I could slap Dignics on the Harimoto and Ovtcharov and the difference in how they play will be virtually identical.

One is faster, one is slower - But we are talking tiny margins here. I don’t think the difference is enough to affect my results.

it is. But it feels closer to an outer carbon blade than any other inner carbon I’ve played with.

I tried FH blocking with Dignics 09c 2.1 mm on Ovtcharov ALC and Timo Boll ALC. The difference is night and day. You can really feel the innerforce absorbing pace on blocks, while with Timo Boll the ball leave with almost identical speed back to opponent. I would say the length and power of the ball is close to outer carbon blades, but the differences in dwell time, arc height and pace variation are way more noticable.

Hi ,
I found both those are quite head heavy. I found the Butterfly innerforce alc more balanced. Its the same as the harimoto version but has a smaller head (normal size head). I moved from a Korbel blade to the innerforce, a nice upgrade in speed but still maintained some of that wood feel. :)

Try out the handles (FL or ST) based on your preferences if you can borrow it from a friend. If you have medium to large hands then most likely Ovtcharov handle would feel more comfortable but it's up to you.
Also the weight of the blade - if you get a Harimoto blade which is around 89-90 grams then it would feel more solid and be more responsive from mid-distance keeping in mind the rubbers you mentioned.
Again, this is a matter of personal preference. I have a Harimoto around 90 grams and it plays quite well compared to a 84 grams Harimoto which I find a bit hollow. But it's again personal and nothing to be qualified as right or wrong.
Lastly how much glue you use to glue your rubbers and how much you stretch your rubbers definitely alter the feel and the perception of speed. So please be mindful of this as well.
In the end, if you like both in terms of Form and fit then just choose which one you like most :) both are good.

I’m not disagreeing with you, but these questions are always steeped in so much unanswered and almost impossible context.

- Player ability
- Opponent ability (how are those loops coming in at you for example)
- Weight of blade
- Perception of feel
- Experience with equipment

And finally, are these questions asked for pure curiosity, or do people think it makes a genuine difference to the end result?

I’m also not sure if the BETTER you are, makes it easier or harder to switch.

I’m confident I could play with ANY attacking rubber, and ANY attacking blade, and pretty much get the same results with not much adjustment.

I seamlessly played with my custom blade and D09C (blade an OALC make up) and then switched to a TBALC with Zyre03.

The adjustment just wasn’t that huge - Nothing like what you’d be led to believe if you read stuff online.

It wouldn’t be my preferred set up (too fast!) but I also don’t think it’s a crazy adjustment.

So an OALC to HALC is really not that big a change.

But maybe I just have terrible feeling! 😂

Sure, but you would still need some time to adapt to the speed, contact point, dwell time and arc of the setup. Even regluing the same rubbers on the same blade won't give you the exact same feeling. Even the table composition and area size affects the ball behavior. I have to readjust my strokes whenever I'm playing in a small basement or large hall.

I would but I dont want to waste a load of money and also a korbel with these soft rubbers will be too soft.
How does my suggestion waste money? All you need is a bottle of glue.
Why are you so set on these rubbers?
It seems you've decided on these before knowing what they will give you, which wouldn't make sense.

But ok, just do it the other way.
Decide on the blade first, get your blade and stick the G1s on it.
There is no money being wasted here.
But what increases the likelihood of wasting money is to change everything at once with input from strangers in here and hopi for the best.
