It is the kind of take that dependent on motivated reasoning. Has Harimoto ever won a slam before? Sora could pretty much have won both. What will be more interesting is whether the countermeasures Harimoto has deployed vs lefties are sustainable.

From what I saw before, I kind of expected Harimoto to win this time. Hari boy is so keen to win, but sometimes needs motivation. Sora's win at US smash was a big stimulus to Harimoto. And after the win, he might just loosen up and go on a losing streak.

Have Matsushima and Moregard won an Open by going through ZY, ML and ZJK? They didn't get their GS by getting through WCQ, so? They could've ended up like Harimoto being the finalist at USA GS 2025.
Did ML (and HS) care about the major medals when they identified Harimoto (and LYJ) as the best foreign player (and greatest threat to CNT)? Or FZD picking Harimoto as his most memorable matches at WTTC 2022 and Paris 2024?

That Harimoto is a good player doesn't justify saying ridiculous things.
Let's stick to the relevant detail - you claimed that Harimoto not winning USA Grand Smash 2026 in order to win in Champions Yokohama 2026 was a "hot take". I am just pointing out that in addition to ignoring the fact that he gains fewer points for winning Yokohama vs coming second in a Grand Smash, the take is an example of motivated reasoning. Sora even after winning in the USA was competitive here and could have won if he didn't lose to Harimoto, so there was nothing that prevented a player from winning both events. Sora is still Jaoan's #1 after Yokohama and unless Harimoto wins a slam will remain so for the forseeable future.
The problem now is that since you have committed to following your citing of Ma Long, Hao Shuai etc. of betting on Harimoto, you are now making arguments to defend his failures and trumpet his successes. In reality, he lost to Sidorenko. Even here, his win over Sora was a tight contest. If Sora had won that, no one would have blinked an eye. And there is no guarantee that Harimoto would have beaten Jang in his current form either, even as one accepts that Harimoto plays extremely well at this event. As with Uda, let's see if Harimoto's form continues for a few months.
Citing lots of posts from Tieba in order to defend your position is not going to upset simple common sense. Sora has had almost as many wins over and more competitive matches vs. Wang in the last year than Harimoto has had in his whole career and Sora is also 4 years younger than Harimoto. He has a silver in this new World Cup format, which is much more competitive than the old one.
Repeat after me: That Harimoto is a good player doesn't justify saying ridiculous things.
